Advantages: easy to use with a good signal & battery
Disadvantages: can't put texts on silent & new texts are a bit complicated to send.
Bit of a technophobe, me, & the last thing I want is some complicated all-singing-all-dancing phone that takes me days to get to grips with.
The C300 is basic but cheap, too, which is an added bonus: mine was £15 a few months ago.
It's a medium-sized phone that fits snugly in the hand but does have the disadvantages of a slide phone: a scratched & smudged screen, & the risk of accidentally answering the ringing phone as you take it out of your pocket.
It has no camera or radio, just phone, text & a game, which suits me nicely, & while there are no shortcut keys there are shortcuts on the home screen & the main menu is easy to navigate.
I'm on the Orange network with it. I don't think I've ever had trouble getting a signal, & the sound quality is usually good & clear. It takes two hours to charge & that lasts for over a week: even one bar of power lasts two or three days so there's no urgency with recharging.
I've never found any way of switching the text alert off so I can't leave the phone on vibrate in an important meeting; I have to switch the whole phone off or risk it going 'bing-bong!' when a text arrives.
The text function is easy to use & the keys aren't too fiddly. My only complaint is that sending a new text seems to be quite a long process of getting from the message to the phonebook, selecting the recipient's number & getting back to the message again to send it.
On the whole though, a straightforward phone that performs its limited functions well.
Summary: a reliable budget phone
