Advantages: good range of features, small, decent memory
Disadvantages: a touch heavy for its size
The Samsung D500 is a phone I've had for a while now. Each year my partner get's a new phone and I inherit her old one. The D500 is one of the better phone's I've used. I sit here typing after finding the box and manuel to help with the technical facts.
The display on the D500 is excellent with a 1.9 inch sized screen, a resolution of 176x220 pixels, displaying 262k colours. The screen is bright and easy to see at all time.
The camera's resolution is 1.3 megapixels which can take some good pictures, but better's available on the market. The camera has a flash and a 7x digital zoom and can also be used as a camcorder, with a 4x digital zoom.
The phone comes with an MP3 player with a decent sized memory (if it's not full with loads of videos) that plays at a high quality. The MP3's can be used as ringtones, message alerts and for your alarm.
The phone supports bluetooth and has a USB adaptor so you can transfer your videos and photos onto your computer to free up space on the phone. A bluetooth head set and car kit comes included.
The memory at 80 Mbytes is pretty decent for storing music and photos, but can soon fill up with video's. There is memory card slot included, although I don't have one as I don't use my phone for video's very often.
You can connect to the Internet, play and download game's, along with the usual phone functions (calculator, calendar etc).

1.3 megapixel camera (1280 x 1024 pixels) with flash and digital zoom

I like this phone as its small, not too heavy, has a decent range of feature's and is very easy to use. I would recommend it to anyone who want's a robust phone and is not too bothered with having the latest model.

- 27/08/08 I disagree with 'TheChocoalteLady' listing the features is a good option, as everything you need to know about the phone is on the review, instead of coming on this review, then going to a different site to see specifications. |

- 21/08/08 Nicely written but a couple of problems. First of all, listing the features is unnecessary - we can find that all over the internet. Secondly, you don't tell us enough about how this works as a phone. Let me know if you revise this. |
