Advantages: Looks good, reliable, durable
Disadvantages: A few of the settings, can't use custom sms tone
I've had this phone now since March this year, so around 4 months. I got the phone on an Orange contract in a special deal.
--------------------------------------
Why did i choose this phone?
--------------------------------------
I had previously had the Samsung D500 on PAYG (Pay as you go) and it had done the job very well. I found it reliable and pretty easy to use. So i decided to go for the D900.
--------------------------------------
Useability
--------------------------------------
Being a user of the D500 the D900 menu layout was reasonably similar with only a few more options and layout changes.
The menu layout can be seen here: http://www.trustedreviews.com/images/article/inlin e/3457-8.jpg
Text Messages - Very similar to most phones, although the space key changes from phone to phone, and to bring up all the special characters you need to hold #. I'm sure this is mentioned in the manual but who reads that? ;p
Applications - The phone comes with a number of applications, Music player, Voice recorder, image editor, and java world (Games). All are self explanitary really and reasonably simple to use.
Camera - The camera is pretty easy to use and i'll discuss that later.
All other features on the phone are pretty easy to use.
--------------------------------------
Reliability
--------------------------------------
I've had the phone for 4 months, it's crashed (and reset automatically) once, i can't remember why is did it now though, but i was pretty sure i was messing about with it so it was probably my fault. Apart from that it's been fine.
--------------------------------------
Durability
--------------------------------------
Every phone that i get never gets treated with care lol The phone has been dropped a number of times onto our laminate flooring, and it's fine, infact there are hardly any scratches on it, in fact i can't actually see any scratches, i know someone with a sony phone, and he's had it for the same amount of time, and his is very scratched and he takes more care of his. I've happy with how durable it is.
--------------------------------------
Camera
--------------------------------------
The camera itself is easy to use, there is a shortcut button on the side which you press once to bring up the camera menu and again to bring up the camera. Then you point and press it again to take. Easy as that. It's got a 3mp camera on it, and also has a light for when you are taking a picture when it's dark. To be honest all picture stay on my phone, and look great on the phone. It will also record video. The quality of the video is also very good on the phone.
--------------------------------------
Bluetooth
--------------------------------------
I've connected it up to my laptop a few times with a bluetooth adapter, always me to get all the pictures etc from it. Works a treat.
--------------------------------------
Memory Card
--------------------------------------
I purchased a 1GB memory card for it from ebay a month ago, haven't used it much yet, i have a few songs on it, and it works fine. Well worth getting.
