Samsung E530
-: INTRODUCTION :-
I bought this phone last year as a birthday present to myself, that sounds a little sad really I know but it was something I really wanted and what better day to get it on is on my birthday. Anyway I thought I would share with you a little about the phone.
-: DESCRIPTION OF THE PHONE :-
This is a phone that was made and designed for the ladies, its small, which is able to fit into a ladies handbag, sexy because of the design of the phone its not flat and boring like some phones are, this phone has a rounded body to it. It only weighs 85g which isn’t heavy to carry about. Even though this phone is only 86x43x26mm in size it is packed with so many features, which I will mention later on.
To the front of the phone you will notice the 4x digital zoom camera, the camera is good on this and takes some really good pictures, also good for recording too. The external display on the phone is only 80 x 64 pixels, which is pretty small, through the display you can view the clock which is illuminated, the battery life and also the signal which are also illuminated. The phone is in 2 different colours with mine being lavender pink its as dark pink stripe down the centre of the phone, with the Samsung label going across the bottom of the phone. On the left hand side of the phone there is a little button, which is for the camera, you don’t have to go into the phone to access this, but the only problem of this is when you have it in your pocket or in your handbag it will nudge the button and takes pictures. There is also the button on the right hand side to which is for the key volume. Also if you press and hold down the # on the keypad you can set the ring tone to silent, and pressed again will set the sound back
As you open the phone, you will notice the keypad which illuminates when the phone is open, also the 176x220 TFT LCD internal display. The display will show a number of things, the time, the date, battery life, signal, menu button, and the contacts button, and still enough room for a display picture. Clicking the menu button at the bottom of the display will take you onto a graphical display of features, where you can edit settings, change your display picture, edit ring tones, edit contacts, view the calendar, take pictures, send messages, browse files, go on the web, view calls, and play games.
I am going to run through the phone with you but I won’t go into detail because I am sure you will get what each thing does.
Within the menu you will see
Call records – view all calls made, received, and missed.
Phonebook - Add, edit, and delete, contacts in here
Applications – In here you will find games, Music player, lifestyle, voice recorder, world time, alarm, PIM sync, calculator, converter, timer, stopwatch, and o2.
Browser – Here is where you can connect to the internet via your phone.
Messages – Send and receive text, emails, multimedia messages here, you can also edit the settings for messages in here too.
File Manager – In here you will find, images, videos, music, sounds, other files, memory status.
Calendar – self explanatory
Camera – Here you can take pictures and record videos too.
Settings – You will find time & date, phone settings, display settings, sounds settings, network services, Bluetooth, security, connection settings, and reset settings.
-: WHAT I LIKE ABOUT THE PHONE :-
I love everything about the phone and I am really glad I bought it, the battery life is great on it and when it needs charging up it doesn’t take long at all, there is also the fact that its small and doesn’t weigh that much either so doesn’t weigh me down and doesn’t stick out anywhere. You can use the phone as a mp3 player, which is really good. You can now get this phone in more colours which when I purchased this I could only get it in lavender pink, now you can choose from white, blue, orange, and valentine pink. I just really like the phone full stop, there is nothing wrong with this phone what so ever.
-: PURCHASING & PRICE :-
You can buy this phone from almost any mobile phone shop I bought mine from o2 at the price of £200, but you can buy it now from the link at around £140, but it’s a great price to pay for this phone.

- 04/06/06 As below the review is very much like a user manual describing what it does but gives very little opinion about what you think of its features that will actually help someone decide whether it is for them. You also don't give many specifics e.g. 'The battery is great'... but you fail to mention how long it lasts before you do actually have to charge it again. There is nothing as Dave has mentioned about using the phone as a phone - the main reason people buy one... what's sound quality like during calls? Is texting easy? Take a look around the site and you should hopefully get ideas to help you.
If you need any help feel free to contact me.
