Advantages: Clean, simple, easy to use
Disadvantages: Camera and Video Camera
The first impression one gets from this phone is its simplicity. It is beautiful in a minimalistic sort of way - clean white lines and simply designed buttons. The pure white colour also matches my laptop as well :D. It is easy to use, as most phones are nowadays, and has all the apps one would expect to find on a mobile - mp3 player, calendar, address book, a few games, a web browser, a simple calculator, bluetooth functions, etc.
It has an external display on the outside of the phone, which works when the phone is shut, which is independent of the internal one that functions when the phone is open. Both are customisable as well. It has an incredible battery life when idle - I have been using this phone for 3 years and have not needed to buy a replacement battery.
The camera is, at 1.3 MP, not the best, to put it lightly. There are better cameras, but I'm happy with this one, and have used it to take quite a few photos. Sometimes the resolution hinders the quality of the photo, but this happens quite rarely, in my experience, and the photos in general turn out ok. But there is no point complaining about the camera in this phone - the camera was not the reason why I got the phone, and if i wanted one with a better camera, I would have got a different phone. The phone has the ability to send picture messages, as well as MMSs.
Same goes for the video camera/video recording function - it does work, and sometimes the small resolution will hinder the quality of the videos you take, but if high quality video recording is really important to have in a phone, then this is not for you.
There is internal storage of 80MB, which is enough for a few mp3s, but if you are serious about using it for playing audio files then it is better to use the expansion slot for a micro SD card, which will exponentially increase the capacity. It comes with stylish headphones, which also come with a microphone so that one can make and answer calls using the headset. Going the other way, it also has capability as a speakerphone, with decent volume.
It comes with nice enough games, and more can be downloaded, though this probably costs quite a bit, unless you have a decent allowance. The web browser is functional, but the screen is probably too tiny to enjoy the experience with. Loading is slow, as it uses the slower EDGE protocol, rather than the faster 3G, but this is understandable when you look at when it was released.
The bluetooth works well with all the devices I have paired it with, and one of the best things that I use it for is to type and send text messages on my laptop without having to open the phone.
All in all, a decent, stylish phone, that has all the features you would expect from a phone. Its a pity that this line has been discontinued - a phone with such aesthetics AND today's technology would be awesome.
