Advantages: Small, uncomplicated, swivel
Disadvantages: Small, uncomplicated, swivel
So, I am notorious for losing phones, dropping them down the toilet, spilling cups of tea over them etc. My most recent phone, a very cute Sony Ericsson, died in the bath. After my mate got her new phone she let me borrow her Samsung SGH-F210 - brave girl! This is my review of probably one of the worst phones to hit the shop shelves.
SIZE
In my opinion, size does matter! This phone is tiny which should be an advantage but this phone does it in all the wrong ways. Tiny screen = tiny writing, tiny photographs, tiny videos etc. So I have to put my specs on just to see what I am about to text someone! Tiny buttons, not ideal for drunk texting. So tiny I fear I will possibly lose it, break it or again lose it in a bubble bath. I feel it is perhaps too small, not that I like bulky phones, I like small lightweight phones, this has just took it to extremes.
FEATURES
This phone has the usual features you expect from a modern phone. A camera (2.0megapixels) I have not bothered using it though, due to the smallness of the screen you can hardly see what picture you have taken. It is also able to record videos, same problem as the camera though! It has an MP3 player which could be handy - however I have an iPod and find I do not need this. The other features are the usual ones you expect from any phone, even the ancient ones, calculator, alarm, pointless currency converter and good old stopwatch and timer.
SWIVEL
Yup, this phones opens by swivelling the front round to reveal a long slim line phone. This swivel operation on the phone I am using has broken in someway so now every time I put it down on a hard surface it springs open and almost flies off the desk or wherever else I have put it. Also by closing over the swivel front the keys become locked, opening it unlocks the keys, so you guessed my swivel front is broke therefore when the phone lies open in my bag it either sends some blank text messages or phones some random people - not ideal. So when buying a phone, forget a swivel feature, looks cool but is totally impractical when it eventually wears out!
APPEARANCE
These phones come in some very pretty metallic colours which are all pretty till you have had the phone a week or two and it has been rattling in your bag and has been dropped countless times - the metallic finish to the phone I am using is disappearing by the day, and the phone looks less funky and stylish and more old and tattered.
So either I am totally careless with my phone or this phone is rubbish. I think it could be a bit of both. Any phone I have has to be able to withstand a lot, this phone is definitely not a contender! So cannot wait till I am due my upgrade and can get a new pretty phone. I beg you people, do not spend your money on this phone!
Summary: Not a great choice of fun, glad its only a lone from a friend!
