The Samsung SGH-F330 is a smooth slide phone with a touch navigator and a sleek mirror finish. Worth your money if you're a multimedia maniac and a must for music lovers.
The 12.8x22.0cm colour screen flicks up to reveal a keypad that will satisfy people big on texting. The screen itself has a high resolution but is not great to watch videos on even when viewed horizontally.
The heat-sensitive touch navigator on the Samsung F330 led a revolution on the mobile market followed by such models as the LG Secret, however it is not as great as you would think. When scrolling through the text message inbox, the navigator lags a lot and it takes nearly a full 10 minutes to delete a collective number (100+ standard texts) of messages altogether.
This product is ideal for the youth market and not recommended for businessmen or busy housewives.
Battery life is satisfying but if you're charging up while calling someone you may as well wear an oven glove as it heats up quite alarmingly, however, that doesn't effect the performance of this phone.
The F330 is equipped with a great speaker and is decently shock-proof. The screen does not scratch as much as you would think if you look after it.
With bluetooth capabilities one can listen to music on the F330 via stereo bluetooth headphones or connect earphones to the phone via the USB adapter (which is frankly rather annoyingly long). With expandable memory of up to 4GB, over 1000 songs can be stored in the music player.
Some mobile applications such as Windows Mobile Messenger is unavailable for this model but that's no big deal. But it's definitely a phone that can bear the use of a heavy texter/caller and music listener.
The 2.0 MP camera isn't too flash yet concealed when the phone is closed leaving it hidden and protected. It doesn't have flash leaving night time shots completely out of the question and the quality of photos depends on the lighting where one is set at.
One of the best features of this phone is the button on the bottom-left side that can access call, message, internet and 'end all' options without interrupting video viewing, calls and internet browsing. (Hard to explain but very, very handy!)
Enjoyable, good-looking, smart and smooth, the Samsung F330 is for the tech-savvy music lover.
