I bought this phone in December 2008 from O2 for about £100 including my old phone as trade in, as a Christmas present to myself (well actually I had another phone at the time and it was pretty bad so I needed to buy one, was just coincidental that it was near Christmas!) and have been using it on a daily basis since then.
It's got some good features on it such as a 3 megapixel camera, bluetooth, MP3 player, radio, predictive texting, and (consider this is a mobile phone) some good quality Bang And Olufsen speakers built in to it!
I've had lots of different mobile phones in the past from many different brands, and I have to say this is probably the best phone I have owned out of all of them. I only really use it for texting, phoning and occasionally taking pictures but it serves the purposes well, plus it has excellent battery life to boot (you can also charge the battery from your computer using the USB cable by the way, good if you're at work and don't have access to any power points).
The picture quality could be better. The best pictures seem to be ones which are taken in good natural light and when you hold the camera really steady or rest it on something solid - but then for the price you would be naive to expect a mobile in this price range with all of its features being top of the range.
My only other negative point on this phone is that because it has a large screen area it will be prone to scatches - regardless of whether you have a phone sock for it or not.
I have had this phone for 7 months now, and it has been great.
The screen is large and it is easy to use and operate. The battery lasts a very long time on this phone, it can go for 2 weeks on standby. The speakers on the phone for playing music are excellent, (Bang & Olufsen ICE). The mp3 players works in a similar fashion to the ipod, with the wheel that spins to change tracks. The phone also has a 3 megapixel camera built-in, and the quality from this is about average for a camera phone.
The bad points however, are that the microphone is not that good as my last phone, as some people that I phone complain that when I am talking quietly they cannot hear me. So the sensitivity of the microphone, must not be that good. Another thing is that the Samsung charger is not very common at all, so if you forget to take your charger with you likelihood is that you cannot borrow a phone charger for this as the connection type is rare.
Apart from these little niggles to phone has been really good, performing well and has the added advantage of great sleek looks and quality audio.
When I first bought this phone I was pretty pleased with it. It looks nice and has all of the features that you would expect with a modern mobile phone (camera, mp3, internet connection, ect) however after having it for a few months I have started to notice many things which annoy me about it. It didn't take long for some of the keys (most noticibly the wheel) to become worn and stop working properly, making using the menus a bit of a nightmare. The memory on the phone is also a bit of a nightmare. Whilst you can store lots on the memory card that came with the phone (I think I have about 10 full mp3 albums plus lots of pictures) the memory on the actual phone itself is pretty poor. You can only store about one picture (you need to store the picture on the phone memory if you want it as a wallpaper or contact picture) and one mp3 track (which means you can't have one of your songs as a message tone and one as a ringtone.) This situation would be helped a lot of you could delete the ringtones that come with the phone (which are all pretty poor), but unfortuantly your stuck with them as they are all locked. Despite this the camera is of average quality and the sound when making a call leaves a lot to be desired. The phone doesn't come with any built in games although you can download them for a small cost. The battery life is also pretty poor and doing anything like listening to music or making phone calls really drains it quickly. Overall the phone is ok, but I won't be keeping it when my contract expires and will instead by trading it in for a new one. Dissapointing considering most Samsungs I have had have been better quality.
Great phone with great features and really loud! This is a great music phone with an FM radio - i dont use any of these features as i have a MP3 player - however i have loaded lots of music onto this phone and pre programmed that radio channels in so if i ever wanted to i know i could use this.Phone is really lightweigh with a fairly slimlight design. It is one of the better phones i have had in years!!
