Samsung F480 - a very average phone (Samsung SGH-F480)

I work for a mobile phone retailer, and about 5 months ago we all got to update our personal phones through work. We got pretty much the choice of any phone, and at the time it was a toss up between the samsung F480 and the HTC Diamond, but I chose the Samsung F480.

At first I really liked the phone, the features are great, and I picked up how to use the touch screen really easily.

Texting on the phone was really easy to learn. However if you do a lot of texting, it is a lot easier if you can use T9 predictive text. However I do find that the message capacity of the phone is too small. When deleting messages it deletes the newest first - quite annoying!!!

I found the camera to be a real let down. Although it is 5 megapixels, the pictures often blur, and you can only see them at full quality if you put them on your computer. The photo editting software on the phone (for example to rotate a photo) reduces the quality of the picture. It only seems to take really good photos in perfect light conditions, and the flash often just washes the colour out of photos.

The in built browser on the phone is very slow, so I would definitely recommend downloading Opera mini on to it.

I have an 8Gb memory card with mine, on which I store music and photos. The music player is really good, however scrolling through artists can be quite annoying as it does not allow you to jump to a particular letter. When turning the phone on, it takes forever to load the memory, and so slows the entire phone down.

The handset also crashes a lot, often whilst in calls :(

So the main feature of this phone - it makes phone calls. Well sometimes, if it doesn't cut you off or crash randomly half way through, or just make squealing noises at the people on the other end. Ok that makes it sound really bad - it maybe does stunts like that 10% of the time!

Overall it is a nice phone, but I have found a lot of little things about the phone annoy me. If I had the option again, I would not pick this phone.
