Advantages: Looks nice, lightwieght, nice screen cover, good camera

Disadvantages: Lack of ways to customise (in comparision with previous Samsung phones)

Woohoo upgrade time and oh yes the touch screen phones were in that magical "free" section!

When looking for an upgrade from last year's Samsung G600 (which I thoroughly love by the way!) I was keen to branch out into the world of the touch screen, but at the same time didn't want to take too much of a step down from what I already had. I chose a couple which seemed to have most of what I would want, and after discussing it at some length with the nice lady on the end of the phone, opted for the Tocco.

The phone itself is quite a nice size and comes with a snazzy flip cover, which attached on the battery cover - so your screen is nicely protected. Camera (5mp) works well, and it has the option of doing some fun shots within shots - always good for those initial days of playing around. Whilst I has a good sized screen, I was slightly saddened that it didn't some with a stylus.

What disappointed me the most was how few things you could customise on the phone. On my previous G600, I was able to choose screensavers, the font, text and colour of menus, the Orange sign. I could save numbers from a text message, rotate pictures...none of these things were possible on the new Tocco. You could customise the widget either, which is sad as i have so many features on there I don't use. It also lacked features that are now available on other touch screens, such as wifi.

It's a shame that Samsung have created a phone that in some ways moves forwards from previous models, yet at the same time doesn't meet the same standards as their previous models. I use the phone daily, and I do like it far more now that when I first got it, however I would not rate it as the best touch screen available, and I'm glad it was a free upgrade. If you're going to pay money, choose something else.

Summary: Nice for a free upgrade, but I wouldn't put my money on this one
