Advantages: Easy to use, reliable, good sound
Disadvantages: Short battery life, limited text message store
I've had this phone for about three months now and I can honestly say I am a Samsung convert, especially after a couple of years with a very temperamental Sony Ericsson phone!
I chose this particular model because I really wanted a touch screen phone that wasn't an iphone and to be honest, this one looked pretty and very sleek with its black glossy front and stainless steel look back.
Had a small disaster when the phone arrived, didn't bother reading the instructions and tried to insert the charger... into the memory card hole! Big mistake, charger was now useless and the phone was also badly damaged. Luckily I got a replacement fairly quickly, but this time was much more careful. I would advise reading the manual, even if it does look boring, especially if you are new to the Samsung mobile world!
Once I got going I found this phone to be fast, efficient and easy to use. Notable positive features are the store area on the front screen, where you can store frequently used applications such as the time, date and music player features. The internet browser connection is also very good and I have never had a problem with signal at all with this phone (I am on O2). The touch screen itself is a joy to use. Extremely responsive no matter how fast you try and type your messages etc, and so far (touch wood) hasn't frozen on me.
A couple of negatives however. The battery life is very short on this phone, so much so that I now carry my charger around with me. There are a total of three bars on the battery life indicator, but as soon as it goes down to two bars there isn't much time before you are flashing low battery. A little more warning would much improve this phone. Another downfall is the text message store. I am very much a texter and I find that around 200 messages is not enough. I am constantly deleting messages, which can get quite frustrating! Many people have raved about the camera function on this phone, but I have found it difficult to use, particularly the placement of the capture button, which is difficult to reach and you have to press hard for ages, resulting in shaky images.
All in all though this is a very good, easy to use phone.
Summary: Great phone, cheaper version of an iphone
