Advantages: Small, compact and pretty tough for such a tiny phone

Disadvantages: Poor touch screen capability, slow online

This was the first Samsung mobile I ever purchased. I had heard a number of positive Samsung mobile reviews from friends, as well as reading online. This phone was also the official phone of the 2008 Olympics, if I remember rightly. The early signs looked good and my first initial use of the phone at my local Orange shop was very positive.

However, although the phone is easy to get used to, it is also incredibly frustrating. For example, the screen, for a touch screen phone, is relatively small. It's very easy to press wrong numbers / buttons, especially when text messaging. Similarly, if you knock the touch screen with your ear when making a call it can sometimes cut you off without you noticing.

The phone is packed full of features but I rarely use them. The internet access is relatively quick but again, because of the small screen size, can be very hard to use as you're constantly trying to scroll across a page to read the relevant info / pictures. Then, when you try to scroll left for example, you accidentally press too hard and you've hit a link to a new page. Vary annoying.

That being said, the phone is small, compact, retains battery very well and is pretty damn tough for something so slim. It is also very loud and has a good quality FM radio built in.

Overall, I would not recommend this phone but I am well aware it is very popular. If you like your phones simple and easy to use, avoid the Samsung SGH F480. It's just too much hard work!
