Watch out for dodgy speakers on these! Get insurance (Samsung SGH-F480)

After my last contract ending I was convinced I was going to avoid contracts and go back to Pay as you Go but something pink and shiny caught my eye in the phone shop. The Pink Samsung Tocco. With its sleek shiny screen and slim design, I was in love immediately. So I signed up to a 24 month contract as I had to have this phone. It came with a handsfree kit, and a pink flip cover to protect the touch screen. It's quite light and slim so is just the right size for a handbag! It can take a little while to get used to the touch screen but it is easy to use, especially for little fingers. You can also lock the screen so when it's in your pocket, no accidental calls are made! I downloaded some music, I text my friends, I called people, even the camera came in very handy while on holiday. It's not grainy and has a great zoom function too and flash for those night time shots! Then the trouble started, I gradually started losing sound. When I txt, some keys wouldn't make the usual 'beep' tone and some text messages that came through didn't sing to me! This carried on for a few days then the sound went completely. I took the phone back under the guarantee and it was sent off for repair. The speaker was replaced and software updated (so Iost everything I had on the phone!!). It still didn't work and it has since had the speaker replaced 4 times but to no avail. It is now no good for anything other than completely silent use! I'm very disappointed that the beautiful shiny piece of machinery wasn't what it promised to be! and with no insurance, i can't replace it and try again.

Summary: get insurance on this phone!
