Advantages: Nice look, cool backgrounds, lots of features

Disadvantages: Poor quality camera really lets this phone down, bad software for PC

Having only ever owned a Samsung phone throughout the many phones I have owned in my life, I decided to carry on the tradition by buying the Samsung G600. It has served me well and has a number of really good features.

One of the best little features I found with this phone was that there are a number of nice backgrounds preloaded onto the phone that can be changed in the settings menu. I currently have the puma background that shows up in the main menu behind all the features on the phone like messages. I also like the espresso theme but I find the puma background the nicest.

Between the phones memory and the sim card, 1000 contacts can be stored in your phonebook, and 200 messages in total can be stored in the text message folder. To be honest I really dislike the fact that you can only store 200 messages, as I will never fill up the 1000 spaces in the phonebook unless I ask every person I ever meet for their number. I can easily get through 200 messages though, so I have to constantly look through and delete messages, which is a real pain.

The camera is also a little disappointing. Although it is 5 megapixels, when taking a photo you have to hold the camera absolutely dead still, otherwise the picture ends up all blurry. Videos normally turn out quite good, its just a shame that the camera produces quite poor pictures for a 5MP camera phone, I have seen phones with 3.2MP that take better photos.

Another problem I found was that when connecting the phone to the computer to upload files, the computer software played up and took me over an hour to transfer the files onto my PC, but after doing it the first time I got used to it and it became simpler to upload files.

One final problem I have with the phone is that I find that the back cover covering the battery comes off really easily, especially when I wear jeans. If it catches the back it will normally come off easily and then I end up wondering where the cover has gone.

Overall, quite a good phone but it just has some issues that need to be sorted if it wanted to be a top of the market phone. Although the design is over 2 years old, I would have expected better from Samsung.

Summary: Nice phone just needs some updates to make it better

Samsung are usually good, but I think I will stick with my present mobile.
