Advantages: Excellent camera

Disadvantages: Settings for the camera are complicated

When I recieved my Samsung SGH-G800 I did think to myself, its just a little bit chunky, however the phone maintains the high standard of style we expect from Samsung and the 5 megapixel camera does make up for this.

Before I ordered the phone I had checked up on it and noted that it is the first mobile to include optical zoom rather then digital zoom. Making picture quality better and closer to what we expect from a digital camera. The only problem is that in order to take perfect pictures you have to adjust all the settings on the phone and for someone who doesnt have a clue and just wants to take a quick snap this phone is not going to be too helpful for them. Also when taking pictures in the dark the flash is not very helpful unless you are very close to the objects you are photographing.

The battery life on the phone isnt great and more annoying is the fact that even when the phone is on silent the phone makes an annoying sound every ten seconds to tell you the battery is low. Another problem with the phone that I have is getting any reception. Often when using the phone the reception just disappears. but this could just be a glitch on my phone rather then everyones.

The phone has a decent speaker system and you can use a memory card to store all your music, pictures and videos, its also very simple to transfer these between the phone memory and storage card memory.

Its also quite a tough phone, me being the clumsy person I am have dropped this phone quite a few times, yet still, not a scratch. Although I have been highlighting all the flaws of the phone its still a great phone if your going to recieve it free as part of your contract, not someting I would pay too much money for though, even if the camera is great.

Summary: Overall a good phone if not for the difficuties in adjusment of camera settings
