Advantages: Good features and nice looking, all at a reasonable price.
Disadvantages: Quiet sounds for calls and messages.
I purchased this phone after my previous Motorola V500 died on me. I picked this model up for £50, as I wanted something basic but with a fair amount of features like video capture.
Plus points:
- It has a huge screen
- The slide mechanism is easy to use and the keypad is user-friendly. The front buttons (make call, end call, and clear) are also big and solid. It also automatically locks when you slide the two parts together which is handy.
- The navigation menu is easy to use.
- You can download MP3s to it to either listen to or set as your ringtone. The phone as is only has the capacity for about 3 standard length tracks but there is a slot for an additional memory card if you so wished to use one. You can also assign different tones to different contacts.
- FM radio, Video capture, a fair quality 1.3 megapixel camera, Bluetooth.
- It looks good and far more expensive that it is.
Negatives:
- Minor point, I know, but you can't use any other message tones other than what is already on the phone, and they are a bit tinny sounding.
- The message and ringing tones are far too quiet. Often I don't pick up texts until I actually open my phone, even when my phone is right next to me in my desk drawer.
- The WAP has never worked. I know from reading other reviews that other users have experienced similar issues with the WAP connection.
Other than that it is a nice phone, good looking and ideal for someone who wants more than a basic model.
Summary: Good, solid, all round phone.
