***What is it***
The samsung armani is the product of (in my opinion) a completely unsuccessful collaboration between samsung and a well known high end designer brand.
HONESTLY...nobody....possibly a child's play toy..and that will be a real stretch for the child's imagination
Where to start, it is a good looking phone made form stainless steel and aluminum, small (9cm h, 5.5cm w, 1cm d) , nice earphones, but there is really nothing else good to say about it
The touchscreen is appalling, it shouldn't be called a touchscreen you would get a better response from smashing it.....the camera is terrible just in normal daylight and 80%of my pictures were unusable from the phone. After 3 months it developed a software problem where it would stay on the armani screen and not to do anything else..it was fixed but all the functions were still awful. It froze occasionally and i had to take out the battery to reset it as it wouldn't fix itself, by the end of using it i had to jab it to make it do anything.
I think its shocking that samsung sold such a poor quality phone as all other phones i have bought from them even cheap £60 non touchscreens worked better then this, appalling from a major phone company and high end designer who apparently collaborated to scam people out of good money.
Do you even want to know after that review?!!? Well just in case:
2.6 inch screen
Internal 60mb memory
Slot to expand memory via micro sd card
You couldn't pay me to buy this phone again, seriously.
I got this phone on a 18 month just because it was Armani, which is vain. When I first received it I found the touch screen extremely difficult to use, it would take me five minutes just to write a short text message!
However it was my first touch screen phone and after I got used to it I found it just as easy to use as a normal phone. It has a feature where when you press a button on the touch screen it will vibrate just a tiny bit, this tactile feedback makes the touch screen much easier to use.
The speaker on the phone is really good quality and can be turned up so that if you are speaking to someone, even if you're in a noisy environment you can still hear them clearly.
Also if the phone gets damp, for example, if it is in the rain briefly or in the same room when you shower the touch screen gets unpredictable. It will press completely different buttons from what you are trying to do. But this will stop when the phone dries again.
In spite of this it was a really great phone, with all the features you would expect and although the camera quality isn't great I ended up keeping it for twenty two months!
Like some other DooYoo members who have written reviews for this phone, I took out a mobile phone contract specifically to get this phone when I first saw it.
This phone is visually stunning, it certainly was when I first purchased it, although after 2 years of heavy use, signs of wear and tear are obviously starting to show, like scratches on the screen, the charger hole cover is no longer attached and the battery life is starting to become less and less!
The touchscreen is generally good, very responsive. The camera is average, although could be a lot better, as it does give a yellowy tinge to the photographs. The flash is also poor.
Another issue I have found is the plastic covers over the mSD slot and charging port fall off after repeated uses, due to them being not very well attached and this slightly lets down the appearance of the phone.
The operating system can also be slow on some occasions, and sometimes crashes at some very annoying times, such as pressing send on a long text! This often requires taking the battery out and restarting the phone, and not forgetting having to re-write the text!
Make no mistake, this phone is beaten by hundreds of others in terms of usability, reliability and features, but I've put up with it for this long because of its looks, and of course it's designer label.
this was my phone until my recent upgrade,
i took a contract out just for this phone it looked stylish and was very modern, in the box you get a phone cover, the phone sits in the cover so it covers the screen to prevent scratches.
i found it hard to use the phone at first due to not ever having anything touch screen i had the phone for 18months and it was very very reliable for me im really prone to dropping phones and the phone remained intact after many falls, the phone also has a hood memory and a slot for a memory card for the music which was great for me as i used it for a mp3 the downsides to the phone is that the touchscreen is very sensitive and with having large hands n a small touchscreen you can imagine how many times i had to rewrite texts overall i thought it was a great phone
Had this phone on contract I did not know that it was going to be a touch phone until it arrived. Found this very difficult to operate when it arrived and I found the customer services to be no help at all, I had to contact Samsung direct and they were not much better this was at my own cost I might add. I have now had the phone for just over a year and I have final come to grips with how to use it. I agree with other reviews that it is easily damaged and the screen is very sensitive and it does not always go to the option choosen. The look of the phone is great and very stylish, with great accessories, the instruction booklet could have been a bit simpler. Overall once I had figured out how to use the phone, including how to change the interface from letters to numbers and back again, I have found that it was great I really love the fact that I can listen to music, play a video, or flick through my pics.
This phone looks great and the cover is fab for it! But then the problems start! A smudge of makeup on the phone or a scratch makes the phone randomly pick a different button to which you chose which is very annoying. It turns its self off all the time, i do admit that this may just be a problem with the one i have but who knows? The camera is not too good on it and it scratches loads! Another annoying factor for me is that the alarm is set to PM which is not shown on the main screen for the alarm ( as you have to scroll down ) which was annoying when i slept in!
This phone is great looking and for the image conscious! But has quite small touch screen buttons so i wouldnt recommend it for people with larger hands and i would not say it was as good as other touch screens such as the LG Viewity ir Samsung Tocco!
I bought this samsung armani mobile phone after having the lg prada and it is 100% better. it has a better camera, better touch screen and it is so easy to work. The main problem i had with the lg is it used to freeze but ive had this one over 5 months now and it has never done it. The phone comes with a memory card as well which is great as im always taking pics of my daughter. you get a number of cases and screenwipe which all have giorgio armani wrote on which is great when showing of to you friends hehe! Its a great little phone with lots to do on it including making your own photo stamps and editing pictures. the only thing which is a bit trouble is when you call someone if you need to touch the screen ( like if you were calling a company) and they ask you to press 1 you have to take the srceen lock off which takes a while and there normally up to press 5 by then lol! But overall great phone.
I've only had this phone for a couple of months and I love it. Agreed, it can be a bit tempermental when it comes to the touch screen; I've learned to hate calling numbers where you have to select options, as you have to unlock the phone, select the keyboard icon to get to the numbers which does become annoying. However, as this is my first touch phone, I am being a little biased as I have nothing else to compare it to.
That aside, I love the slick, minimal design and fantastic screen quality. The camera and videos are also very good, especially for quick snapshots. The interface is pretty easy to use, takes a little bit of getting used to but when you have you can get everywhere really easily. The look of the phone is also very clean and modern, and the tiny shape makes it easy to fit into bags or pockets.
The only downside I can really think of is the touch pad because of how long it takes to get used to, although I think this would be the same in most touch phones. My phone has frozen on me once, but in all fairness most phones do at some point or another. Other than this I cant find any other problems or issues with the phone.
Samsung Meets Armani.
Yes it's a bold move, and an interesting one. Samsung Armani was released a year after LG Prada, obviously following the similar steps. In terms of spec sheet, Armani was improved, with 3MP camera, better construction and build, and fancier music player.
I'm a big fan of touch-enabled phones, and thus I liked PRADA and iPhone. Samsung was not as impressive as either of those, mainly because it was not as responsive and what is worse, it was slow. It contained many interesting features and designs, inspired by Armani no doubt, but the hardware could not keep up with all the advancements. The music player I liked alot, with exciting layouts and designs, texting was the hardest, as ARMANI made it demading to press the right letter. The screen was good however, good in res and under the sun. The build was better than PRADA, it did not show immediate peeling or scratching.
3MP camera was average, and nothing to brag. Browsing the pictures or videos was hell, as it was very slow. So mixed emotions for this phone. One good upside - it is ARMANI branded.
I've had this phone for around 5 months and there are both negative and positives to it. I had to change my tariff as the phone is so expensive but with that i do receive more minutes and texts. The phone is a very attractive phone and if kept in its protective case that is provided it does not get damaged. However, i have now given up keeping it in the case and so now it is fairly scratched just from having it in my bag. The phone is relatively easy to use with the touch screen, however if you text a lot i would recommend getting a different phone. On the other hand, if you do not use your phone much for texting and want an attractive phone then i would recommend this phone. I still like the phone and once you get used to using it it is easy to use
I had trawled round countless phone store, flicked through catalogues, and roamed the web, searching for the perfect new phone. Nothing had tempted me enough to want to sign an 18 month contract until I saw the Samsung SGH-P520 being sold by phones4u. It looked and sounded so perfect and I purchased it online without checking it out instore.
When it finally arrived, it's appearance more than lived up to my expectations. However, I was hugely disappointed upon turning it on. The touch screen was immediately annoying and it was difficult to get the phone to recognise which buttons I pressed. I am a lady with very small fingers, but I can only imagine the trouble a man would have in completing such a normally simple task as sending a text message. The phone makes things hugely complicated and time consuming.
If you use your phone solely for making calls, you may not mind using this but you would probably still get fed up with it.
Samsung and Armani have nothing to smile about with this model. I can't wait until my contract finishes so I can ditch this awful phone! What a let down!
the samsung georgio armani is without a doubt one of the worst phones i've had. it looks amazing without a doubt, but the fact everything is touch screen apart from hang up, answer and the light/camera button makes life so much more difficult.
sometimes, when dialling a telephone number you'll find yourself pressing a touch screen button 5 or 6 times before it finally recgonises your existance.
this phone comes with a 1gb memory card wich is usefull, but in my opinion is no where near enough memory.
now instead of being completely negative i will try and find some good things about this phone... the graphics for instance, are some of the best and most advanced in mobile phones to date, and the camera and camcorder have amazing quality but this still doesnt make up for poor performance no matter how big the memory card you put in.
to be able to get the most out of this phone you need to have an extremely long fuse and pencil thin fingers.
the sound quality isnt amazing, but what can you expect from such a small, sleak phone?
you dont get an awfull lot of features, but this is probably for the best as it would make this phones performance even worst and it would probably be constantly freezing.
ive tried to get onto the internet with it, but it took too long and eventually i gave up.
after about a month with this phone i gave up and sold it on ebay, eventually getting a samsung f700, which is by far one of the best phones ive had.
samsung are very good when it comes to making phones... but everyone has there bad days. unfortunately this phone was made on one of them.
it will have you moaning your socks off if you buy this.
