Advantages: crystal clear colour screen, polyphonic ringtones are the future man...., light, durable, and ultra cool!

Disadvantages: expensive

Wow... where do i start with this beauty! Okay, well firstly i should inform you that this is my first ever mobile phone (so considering i have no other experiances with mobiles this opinion may be slightly biased, sorry!)

To begin with then, i walked into my local orange shop and noticed the samsung A-300 and T-100 models alongside eachother- the model up, the T-100 was £99 aswell as a 12 month contract (and the A-300 being free) but boy- £99 makes alot of difference!

What the T-100 improves over its predecessor is two key areas, a newly designed colour screen with awsome sounding polyphonic ringtones (which pretty much replicates real music, and not just a set of ultra annoying- beep, beeeep, beeep, beep! (i think you all get the picture..)

Sure, thiers also minor improvements along the way but these two features are revolutionary for mobile phone technology today, thiers just so many features it blows your mind due to the size of the thing (92kg).

Lets move on and talk about how it looks, well- its aero-dynamic, which means its very curvy- has a small antenna at the top with a small screen located in the center on the exterior of the phone (im sure you all know this displays the date, time, battrey life and signal strength etc)all done up with a lovely silver finish effect.

The interior is even more special- an easy to use keypad- a large clear and sharp colour screen, and a strong hinge to prevent your phone closing up while your talking on the move!

Im sure this phone contains pretty much all of the features any other phones provide plus more, but heres a quick lowdown

- a large phonebook
- voice activated dialling
- a heap of realistic ringtones
- an organiser, with world time and calculator!
- three fun games to choose from
- WAP access

Negative points then, well its mighty expensive without a contract right now (£350 i think) and even with a contract its still a hef
ty sum to pay for a phone.

Thiers also not much on the way of downloadable ringtones due to the phones superior technology which is a shame (but give it a few months and hopefully the mainstream phones, nokia, motorola etc would have caught on to this fantastic feature)

Overall then a perfect phone for somebody who wants the best technology in the palm of thier hands and wouldnt settle for anything less (and no folks- i dont work for Samsung hehe!)

I would also like to take this chance to say ive dropped the bugger already, on concrete, and it survived with barely a scratch!

Plus.. it comes with a fantastic bundle- including a second battery, hands free kit and a very usefull instruction manual aswell as a CD-ROM with even more animated colour backgrounds and ringtones for your new phone, well that about sums it up then!

Useful comments, but Don't underestimate the capabilities of this baby. I just got my one on T-Mobile today, have unlocked it so I can use it with my work SIM, and managed to load ringtones from the internet to it (Real Slim Shady was a cracker and it sounds excellent). The phone uses standard MIDI files converted to samsung format (.MMF) You need the PC-Link software that came with your phone, and software from http://www.mobile-univers e.org/ It has a MIDI to .MMF converter, very easy to use.

In conclusion, no other phone comes close in this department, and the amount of ringtones you can choose from is only limited to the amount of MIDI files you can search for on the net!

I've just ditched the Samsung A300 and the T100 would have to be vastly improved for me to venture into buying this brand again. But, good luck with yours .....

Lisa :)
