Advantages: big screen, bright colour, big keys

Disadvantages: alarm won't work unless the phone is on

After having a Motorola V66 for about....a year it decided to pack up on me and I had grown fond of flip phones because they seem to be the 'in thing'. But...I am one for always the latest technology and the latest phones are from Nokia which don't have flips or Ericsson which is the same.

I was tempted into getting a colour screen because that also seems to be the thing to have. So what do I want? A colour screen with flip...erm...ok a Samsung T100. People raved about the A300 and they seemed small and compact and I haven't heard of any problems....so I decided to ditch my Motorola and head for Samsung.

I picked up the T100 for 190 pounds and waited for delivery. When I received it I thought it was bigger than what I imagined..I expected it to be Motorola/A300 size but its abit bigger...but thats because of the big screen. I use WAP alot so I want a big screen and my old Nokia 7110 did the job but the T100 has come up with the same idea which is great.

You turn on the phone for the first time and a nice little jingle is played...which gets very annoying after months of use...and then a picture comes up of a lighthouse as it searches for your network...then up pops your interactive wallpaper. I believe you can download new ones of woman in bikinis, holiday scenes etc but on my phone you get everything from a santa claus, footballer, skyline at night, flower and a few more which I can't remember. These wallpapers are moving wallpapers...so abit like a screensaver. The colour is fantastic and very bright. When the flip is closed, the screen is shut off to preserve power. If you live the flip up...the colour dims...but you still see the screen.

The buttons are big again which is good although its difficult to get used to the txting...as every phone manufacturer seem to re arrange the 'space' key differently. Txting is done on the full screen in massive letters so its great not to have to bring the phone
close to your eyes to see the letters.

Games, well there is a virtual pet, space invaders and they are all of very good quality. You could say it was abit like a colour game boy..although remember that things like this drain the power ALOT!

The alarm has to be the most annoying part. Well good in someway. First you can select it to go off weekly or daily...so no setting the alarm every night. BUT...unlike Nokias which turn themselves on when the alarm goes off....the Samsung doesn't...so if you want the alarm on..you have to leave the phone on and with the big blue light that flashes to tell you that you have a signal...in a pitch black room...it can annoy you abit.

If you don't want a phone that is to small or to light then this is for you. If you want to be 'trendy'...again its for you. I would say don't buy it if your looking for any type of mobile and not fussed because its expensive and has alot of gadgets on it.

A good op but I would have liked to have heard a little more about it's features etc. for a VU ;)

Not a big fan of Motorola mainly because my current incarnation is pretty useless with regard to letting me know who I have received texts from. Next time Nokia!
