Advantages: Good update if you like a Samsung phone.

Disadvantages: Very poor instruction manual and does take a bit of getting used to the magic touch interface.

I have had this phone for just over a week now but must admit I did nearly return it (I had it on 7 days approval).

I upgraded from a Samsung D900 which I really liked, but as I was offered an upgrade with my contract opted for the Soul thinking it would just be an updated version of what I had.

I hadn't bargined for the magic touch - a touch navigational keypad (this is not the full screen but a smaller screen just below it). Within half an hour I could have thrown the phone out the window and was determined to return it as I found it difficult to use and the manual was little help. However I decided to give it a second chance and persevere with it and I am glad I did.

I eventually found you could reduce the sensitivity of the touch screen which helped me. I then spent some time getting to know my phone. The best way to do this was by trial and error as I really thought the instructions that came with the book were of no real help and would have to say they are the worst instructions I have had with a mobile phone. Once I had conquered the magic touch screen, I found the phone relatively easy to use and soon had it set up with my different ringtones etc.

The camera is a 5 megapixel one and does seem to have a lot of settings if you use your phone as a camera a lot and like to use different shot modes.

The sound uses the technology of Bang and Olufsen, and you can build up a music library and also use the phone as a radio.

To be honest a lot of the other technical jargon does not mean a lot to me so I will not comment on it. I use my phone to make calls, text, take occasional photos/video, store music and numbers, I also use bluetooth to connect to my hands free in the car, so if it does all these things I am happy, and so far I am happy with the performance of this phone.

If you decide to get this phone set aside a couple of hours to figure it out and set it to your liking, once you have got to grips with it you should be quite happy with it.

Summary: Good phone but does take a bit of getting used to.

Some good stuff here, I just wonder how well this phone works as a phone - especially since you mention that you use it more as a phone than you use it for the special features like the camera and music player.
