Advantages: Long Battery Line, Small but Substantial , Automatic flip cover and great display...the list goes on
Disadvantages: Only Dual Band (But not many people need a third), No Java (Again, not always an important issue)
Customer: Whoa is me! Shop Assistant: Well hello there, what seems to be the problem? Customer : Oh it's so hard trying to find the best and most reliable phone around Shop Assistant: Then step this way and let me show you the Samsung T200.... Samsung T200: Well hello there! (Yeah that's right THIS phone can talk....come on play along.....) Customer: Wow, it's so pretty Shop Assistant: Well with that Clamshell like cover of course it is! Well, you get the message: Customer comes in, shop assistant directs them, and customer leaves with the phone of their dreams. This is pretty much what happened to me the last time I went looking for a phone. I was clueless, I mean there's so many phones out there and I wanted something reliable, low-ish priced and modern looking. My friend had the Samsung T100 but I wanted something....something different. That's when I saw the Samsung T200. It was introduced in 2002 and accessible on a GSM 900 or GSM 1800 network at a size of 88 x 46 x 23 mm and a tiny weight of 99 g it seemed small but substantial. What caught my eye was the internal 65K Colour UFB LCD screen. The colours were so sharp and vibrant. There was a second external display made up of 64 x 46 pixels. Now many people asked after the advert, you know with any phone who is calling, but with a clam-shell design as soon as you open the phone the call is answered, so this is vital in those awkward moments. It is very similar to the Samsung T100 by the fact that the keys are still the metal looking ones yet less fake and plastic compared to the Nokia as they almost have a metal cross rubber feeling, you've got to try them to understand. This makes texting a joy and the other thing that makes texting much easier is the dynamic and large font size. There is also a four way navigation key, which makes it easy to get to different menus and areas of the phones vast array of
options. The phone comes with 31 ring tones but you can add more to this. There is also a vibrate option if you want to keep the noise down or have a whole lot of fun! The features that were included on my phone are apparently optional, but I will go through them anyway: 1. Auto open/close- This is a new feature, which makes it much more, advanced to the T100, and of course much more fun for those lazy moments! 2. EMS 3. Polyphonic ring tones - The sounds of the future! 4. Own Melody creation - So if you were worried you wouldn't have as much fun as your Nokia friends, think again. 5. Nokia compatible melodies - See it's so much more than a Nokia! 6. Ring groups - This makes it simpler to store numbers and assign ringtones. There is quite a large memory inside this tiny marvel! You can store 500 numbers in the phone with 5 fields, so that's an amazing 2500 numbers for 500 people! It has a memory for 20 received calls, 20 dialled calls and 20 missed calls. And let's face it, when are you ever going to need more than that? There is also space for message templates, another feature that makes texting faster. And now the fun part, the *FEATURES*, which is basically what everyone wants to here. I'll just list them so that you can see them easily: SMS - So you can Send/Receive text messages. T9 - Once mastered, it makes text messaging so much easier. World Clock and Alarm Data 28800 bps (Some people may find this useful/important) Infrared port - To communicate and transfer data easily between phones and computers 3 Games - Air Shooting, Space War, My Pet Voice commands and Speed dial - Similar to the new Nokia feature, but of course so much better! Voice memo - So it is not just a phone, but a dicta-phone too! Calendar To do list Menu shortcuts WAP 1.2.1
r> There are two types of batteries available for this phone: Standard battery: Li-Ion 700 mAh with a Standby time of 65 h 3 h (8 hours of Talking) Beeline Network practice tests showed that the phone worked 3 days in the case of 40 minutes of talking and 1 and half hours of using the applications. Extended battery: Li-Ion 900 mAh with a Standby time of 83 h The Samsung T200 is available in four Colours: Metallic Silver, Titanium Silver, Omega Blue and Pearl White. This is a great little phone, so whether you are looking to upgrade an old model or simply buy a new one, Samsung is the make to have and the T200 will fulfil all of your communication needs. And most importantly, you can adopt virtual animals and play with them! SOLD! NOTE: Price below is what I paid on Pay as You Go, this can vary depending on the Network (Vodafone usually the dearests). You can sometimes get this phone for free on contract.
