Disadvantages: Costly, Not easy for beginner
Well...well...well...what can I say? Since the other reviews already brilliantly talked about the technical stuff about this phone, I decided to tell dooyoo members about my experience after using it for a year! hopefully, it will help others. First of all...When I went back to my country, I decided to get a new mobile to replace my tired old Nokia *still love it though*. As long as I know, when I bought it, its not available in the UK yet. Why I decided to get this little Samsung mobile? here you go.... APPEARANCE Ok, honestly, this is the main reason why I can not change my mind to think about other mobiles. I saw their commercial on local magazine and yup, this is exactly what I want, because its so feminine, elegant and yet sophisticated. I was thinking, what was the designer think, when they designed the phone? maybe....classy. Its come in 4 metallics colours, blue, pearl, gold and red. Ta da! yeah, I got the red one, because its more eye catching. (mind you, I'm a Leo, I need attention...hehehe). From the outside, there're a little screen where you can change the screensaver to analog/digital clock, or just funny screensavers. Whats around the screen? thats the best part, its surrounded by Austrian cubic-zirconia that act like diamonds (you will actually receive an athenticity card for this). When you receive a call, lights will come out from this little "diamond". Now...lets open the flip. There's a colour screen that you will have fun with. You can ask your friend who has a camera to send you a pic (but you have to make it smaller first) then turn it into a new wallpaper. The menus are quite handy and well-organized. Key-pad quiet easy to use (although not so easy if you're in hurry, because its so flat!). In general, whats outside the flip as beautiful as inside. TEXTING This is one feature that I use the most since its expensive to call to my country, so I prefer to t
ext everyone. Do I like it? well, its depends. If I want to text my friend in the UK where I use english, then yes, I like it. But how to text in other language? so sorry, I have to say, its painful. You can click on the menu and choose messages and write masseges then choose how you want to write it. There's 4 options for this, ABC mode, Number, English and Symbolic. To send text in my language, I have to use ABC mode. Which means, I have to type the alphabets one by one. If I wan to type A then B, its took a while, because you're using the same button. Also when I want to space each word, I have to click twice. Very different than Nokia where everything a bit quicker. In the other hand, I have no problem if I have to type in English. Because I can just use the "English" option and type the lettering then the word will pop up. So...basically, for texting, this phone is OK to me. VOICE VOICE There's an option there where you can use Voice call. Very easy to record it. But I dont really use it much. Its still weird to me if I let everyone knows who I call...for example, saying "Papa" on the bus...well...you know what I mean.... Other option that I use on the phone is Voice memo. This one is useful, because I can just record my bus schedule and listen to it when I need it. Other time, my friend use it to tell me where her flat is. THE SOUNDS This one is also the one that I like. There's many choices for the rings. The one that makes me feel special *hum* is because your sound is unlike any others. A chance that you will think someone call you when its actually other people's phone is very rare *hehe*. You can choose the one that "romantic" sounds or just a "funny" sounds. With polyphonic feature, the sounds is very clear and loud enough when you're shopping in crowded mall. This one, I must admit that Samsung is better than others.
Because I also have 2 new phones Nokia and Sony-Ericsson with polyphonic, but I can not the sounds of the other two when I'm in crowd. Hum...maybe I will write about those two as well on my other reviews. I also like to use my mobile as my alarm clock, especially if I'm on holiday. Yup same as the ring tone, its loud enough to wake me up! FUN FUN FUN Ok..the best one is that you can have "Life" feature in the menu. Here will come up two choices, Games and Health. I dont talk much about the game because I dont use it much and I think its about the same as other phones, only different games. But the one that I'm excited about is "Health" in this option you can check on your Bio-rhythm, Fatness, Calorie and Pink Schedule. As the option said is exactly what it will do. I like to check on my Fatness *My God!!* and just giggle with my friends. You can giggle even more with the boys when you use the Pink schedule option where it can tell you when is the good time to have a baby...hehehe...yeah, a bit cheesy but, hey, its fun. Those options are easy to use, its only ask you you height, or weight or your menstrual date. But I'm not so sure about the accuracy, but as I mentioned before, its better to use it as to have some fun. Not too seriously think about it. EXTRA EXTRA When I bought the phone, I was amaze with what its come with. Its actually really spoil their market...the women. Its come in a femine box (since I got red phone, so the box is red) all in the same colour scheme. Its included the little satin hanky that I can use to wipe or clean up the phone. Another cool thing is it also come with a key chain where I can hang my mobile. Why I have to mention this? because its so well-designed. The strap is red-leather strap and he ring is silver colour with a little "diamond" in it. So, if I carry my mobile on my hand, I wont lose it. I just put the ring
on my finger, you will see it looks like an enggagement ring, so beautiful. Its also come with an earphone for handsfree option. But its doesn't really impress me, because it looks the same as other Samsung's mobiles earphones from different series, sporty silver, so not really as feminine as the mobile itself. Another small option is, when you open the flip, you can press on "C", the screen will turn into a mirror. Good enough for a girl like me who always forgot to carry a mirror. Very handy to do quick check on your make-up. Clever, huh? HOW TO GET ALONG As I mentioned above, all the features in this mobile is so well-organized. Basically, you have to find the main menu, directory and sub-directory. To be honest, at the beginning those stuff really drove me nuts. Especially, my previous phone was so simple. But the more I spent time with it, the more I like it and of course, its gets easier. The problem with Samsung is, they create theire on system that different than others, says Nokia for example. So if this is the first time you use Samsung, not everyone will enjoy it right away. But when you have "Passed" those "get along" momment, you will like it. Another thing that you have to get use to is that the LCD screen, sometimes not visible when you're under the sun, so you have to move to less-sun places or cover it a little with your hand. Its kinda annoying sometimes but then, you'll be fine. LIKE IT VS HATE IT Yea, I guess this is one of my favorite mobile. The one that I take with me the most. I like the beauty of it. I like having a phone that not everyone has it. When I went shopping, or just hangin' around the cafe with my friends, many people asked me about the mobile or just saying how nice it is. I can say its is so "mature" and "well-established" and I want people to see me like that. The down side? hu
m...since I'm a messy person and this phone is tiny, its not easy to locate my mobile in my bag....but I can not blame Samsung for that...*sigh* PRICE Well...when I got it, it was just about two weeks in the market (in my country!), so, I paid about GBP.300, its should be cheaper by now. I dont know how much it cost in other countries, if you're in the UK, you should refer to the price in the other review. In conclusion.....I highly recommend this mobile for fashionable women who like the finest and yet beautiful gadget.
