Samsung Tocco Lite
Advantages: Touchscreen, decent camera, large screen, build and screen are solid
Disadvantages: Internet speed, no wifi, battery life
This is a non-technical review of the Samsung tocco lite as I'm not really a technical person.
I had to get a new phone because my old phone ended up in the washing machine and so was water damaged. I'm not a heavy mobile user so I use pay as you go also I tend not to buy expensive phones. Mine cost me £50.00 but that was after discount and I also had vouchers. The price varies from where store to store but its about £65.

This is what I got with the handset:
2GB memory card
CD (which I never use because it doesn't work)
Screen and Build
The main reason I was drawn to the tocco lite was that its a touch screen phone and I really wanted one with a touch screen. Also the screen is larger than an average phone at 3.0 inches. I wanted a phone where I could watch movies and TV shows so a big screen size was a must have. The screen display has 262K colour which is average. The size of the font can't be changed and I find this frustrating as for me it's quite large and I don't like it. The touch screen is rather sluggish in its response compared to other touch screens, like the iphone but I can't really complain because this is an entry level phone. I use a screen protector for my screen and its worth having one to avoid scratches.
The phone is made from plastic as is the screen. I have the black model but it also comes in pink. I thought that I would break it in a month, with me being very clumsy but I've had the phone for 5 months and it's in the same condition as it was when I bought it (that's a big achievement for me).
Texting and calling
The screen shifts to landscape when tilted in this direction and it takes a while for the screen to change position. This is the only way to get the QWERTY keyboard to show up.
When a call is received there are two external hard keys to allow or hang up the call. When the call is picked up the phone automatically locks itself so that when you hold it against your check you don't accidentally press the keys.
There is one hard key that lets you escape out of applications and this is found in the middle and the other two are for answering or rejecting calls. There are 2 hard keys on the side of the phone; one for the camera and one for locking the phone.
Music player and video player
To add music and videos to the phone is really easy, all you have to do is transfer it using a USB cable. I use a video convertor before I transfer videos onto the phone so that the file is compatible. The sound quality is good without headphones as well as with the headphones. The major problem I have with the headphones is that even at the lowest volume setting it's loader than what I would like it to be. The quality of the headphone is about 4/10 as they hurt and the noise from the headphones can be heard if someone is next you even at the lowest volume.
These are applications, some of which are included and others can be downloaded from Samsungs website. This includes things like clock, calendar and music player. I haven't added any extra widgets as I don't really need them.
The camera is 3 megapixels but the image quality is not fantastic as I had the sony Ericsson K800i which had a much better camera at 3.2 megapixels which I guess is really similar. The camera does not have a flash. As I don't really use the camera a lot its not a problem. The camera will take good gross pictures but for better pictures a digital camera is better.
The phone doesn't have wifi but you can use it to surf the net and this costs extra (depending on contract/ operator charges). I have used the internet on the phone when I was offered 2 days of free surfing. The internet is really slow when I was checking my email but surprisingly when I was streaming on youtube the speed was quite good and it didn't stop in between. If you regularly use mobile internet or want it for checking email then I wouldn't recommend this phone.
I can go a week without charging my phone but if I watch a film or listen to music then I have to charge that same day as it drains the whole battery.
The annoying thing is I can't charge the battery and use the phone at the same time because there is only one port for the charger and the headphones. There is one phone that I know that allows both to be done but most phones don't.
So if you are looking for entry level touch screen phone then this would be perfect. This phone is no good for those that need to use the internet on a regular basis or if you need a phone with advanced features. The phone is really easy to use so it would suit both the old and young. I like it because it does everything I need for me and most importantly, doesn't cost a fortune.
Summary: Entry level touchscreen with small price
