Advantages: Good with the basics
Disadvantages: Not too good when it comes to many features
When I needed to change my phone I was disappointed to find out that they were all touchscreen. I decided on the Tocco Light as it seemed to be the easiest to use. I got it free with a £25 contract with O2 and at the Carphone Warehouse and was surprised to be told that it would have cost £149 to buy. No way would I have paid that for it.
The screen is a good size - 3" - and as there is not a keyboard it is a slim and compact phone. This is good in a way as it is small enough to fit into bags and pockets but not having a keyboard makes it harder to use.
This is where the good things end. The phone is not user friendly and often does not lock properly meaning calls have often been made while the phone has been in my bag. A particular problem I have is when calling an organisation and having to go through their phone system. When trying to get back to the keyboard to press the number they say I normally get cut off.
Information on the screen is also an issue as if a call is missed unless you press to return the call the message comes up for days. I don't want to be calling back every company that is cold calling me.
The phone does a lot more than I need it to and is easy to use in some aspects. I had no problem getting some music on it and the camera worked well, took good pictures and they were easy to download. It has a 3.2 megapixel camera and I was happy with this on a phone that was free. There is an FM radio but I have not used that. I had no problems with the headphones although a younger friend who has the same phone complains that they are cheap and nasty compared to other phones.
One thing I found difficult was a screen saver. I found it impossible to keep a picture locked so gave up and just have one of the coloured patterns that was provided. There are icons on a side bar that often find their way onto the main screen and it is a bit difficult to make out what each one is supposed to be.
I did not pay for an internet package so can't comment as to how well this works. The organiser section is good and as you would imagine it is not difficult to use the calculator or memo section.
Summary: OK but I wont be getting another one
