Advantages: light, colour screen, web enabled

Disadvantages: none

I asked Santa for a mobile phone this Christmas but, alas, I think he must have lost it en route as it never arrived anywhere in my stocking! So, next best thing I armed myself with purse and a rather exciting review for a Sendo S330 from Dooyoo (thank you MandyMinx!) and trotted off to see what I could find.

I checked this phone out first of all and, having done so, I wasted no more time looking at others. I had to get this new toy home as soon as possible!

Priced at £39.99, I couldn't believe I could get so much phone for my money. To list some of the many features:

Colour Screen, size 98 x 67 pixels, which you can customise
Dimensions 108mm x 47mm x 21mm
25 preloaded ringtones with the ability to download up
to 150 ringtones and icons
Pictures and ringtones can be saved where you want
Animated graphics and sound
Holds up to 500 phonebook entries with space for extra icons and images
Alarm clock with snooze
Screensavers
Access to internet
EMS and SMS chat
Predictive text and prewritten messages for fast texting
Ability to send graphics/sounds with text
Holds up to 20 text messages
6 games
Up to 6 preloaded languages
Can be used abroad

The 6 games included with this phone are :
Tenpin Bowling
Splat
FlippIT
Splash
Quaddro
Scizzors

As with all good phones it also has a vibration mode!

The phone takes approximately 5 hours to fully charge after which time power will allow approximately :
Standby time up to 200-480 hours
Talk time up to 120-450 minutes
Gameplay up to 7 hours

To prolong power the phone automatically switches to power save mode after about two minutes of inactivity whereby the backlight switches off and the time only is displayed. A quick press of a button restores full function immediately.

The phone itself is small and light and fits nicely into your pocket or bag and has a nice
comfortable feel in the palm of the hand when in use. It is grey in colour and very easy to use.

The Sendo S330 is connected to the Vodafone network and is ready to use immediately with £2 of credit already on the phone. Vodafone begin you on their Smartstep tarriff which you can change later if you wish. The Smartstep tarriff, as of today, is a follows:

National calls and other Vodafone mobiles - 30p for first three minutes dropping to 5p per minute thereafter.
Calls to other mobile networks 35p per minute
Text messages - 12p per text for first 3 text messages dropping to 9p per text thereafter.

Calls are charged by the second but carry a 10p minimum charge.

All in all this is a great phone for a great price. I bought mine from my local Vodafone shop but I understand Woolworths and Sainsburys also sell it, no doubt many other places as well.

Do not be put off by the relatively unknown name as I have a feeling we will be hearing a lot more about Sendo in 2004!

I must admit I would've probably ignored this one because I've never heard the name before. But I'll take your word for it that this is a great phone. I'll have a look when I'm ready for an upgrade!
