Advantages: Stylish, range of features and polyphonic ringtones.
Disadvantages: Price and it is only exclusive to vodafone.
The phone itself is very stylish indeed. An attractive grey colour you can really be proud of this one. In it`s folded up state it fits nicely into the palm of your hand and is relatively light weighing around 110g.
The front of the phone has a small display with the time and date on as well as the digital camera lens which is included as part of the phone. Open the phone up and you are presented with a large colour screen and a keypad with the buttons actually large enough to press - a novelty with some of the latest phones!!!
The menu is very large ranging from the messaging option to the camera option.
These options then link on to many more cool things.
Here is a list of them in order :-
CAMERA:
The digital camera lens is located on the front of the phone and is so easy to use.
Simply point the phone and press the button. The pictures are taken in colour and for a phone it is remarkably good quality. They can be either saved to the phone memory or transferred with a piece of software called a data cable which is optional with the mobile so you can connect this phone to your PC then print the photo`s out. I didn`t get this with my mobile, so I asked at a vodafone store and they said it would cost me £30 to but it brand new. The camera works best in well lit places, although there is limited scope to alter the brightness of the lens. In addition a zoom function and a 10 second timer make this a really useful gadget and not just a gimmick. The only let down on the camera is that there are no extras like special effects.
MY PHONE:
This is basically where all your downloaded stuff will live! Be it polyphonic ringtones, pictures or java games, you will have access to them all here. Also here you will find the status of the phone memory, my bookmarks and my text templates.
FUN AND GAMES:
Quite self explanatory this one really. Here you will find all of the games on the phone. They are remarkably good for mobile phone games and some are quite addictive. You can download games and these are found in the Java games folder. Also there are some games which come with the phone and these are under other games.
( Play collection hunter without getting addicted! ) Also here is the tone editor for all you budding tune writers!!!
PROFILES:
This is where you get to set up the phone to your liking. Wallpapers, ring tones, message beeps and much, much more can be fine tuned to suit even the fussiest person in the world.
ORGANISER:
Here you will find the calculator, calendar and alarm functions. You can set up to 5 different alarms, all with different tones and also have them to repeat every day as well.
You can also make voice memos here, which is useful if you are prone to forgetting things.
CALL MANAGER:
This is where you will find the phonebook, as well missed calls and dialled numbers and can also set up diverts from here.
SETTINGS:
Another self explanatory one this. Another place where you can fine tune every option imaginable and some which aren't!!! Security matters are also handled here such as PIN codes and also a master reset button which puts the phones settings back to factory specifications as they say!!!
VODAFONE LIVE:
This is your connection to the internet and to the Vodafone Live service.
This is very useful for keeping up to date with news, sport and traffic as well as downloading new goodies for your phone.
VODAFONE:
This option allows you to browse some of the Vodafone tariffs and charges as well as having news, sport and weather as before.
MESSAGES:
Here is where you can do that old favourite - texting!
You can send either the standard SMS text message but now also MMS, which basically means pictures.
Be warned that this is much more expensive though.
You can also send to email addresses but remember to check that the recipient has access to pictures.
That concludes the review of the features of this phone.
Just enough time to add that charging doesn't take very long - a few hours maximum and the phone is very comfortable to use and I would recommend it to young and old alike.
The battery talktime is very good, so it won't let you down in an emergency and also lasts for ages on standby, much longer than stated on the manual.
Definatly a very good phone to buy, I bought mine second hand from eBay and it only cost me round about £70.
Summary: An excellent mobile phone.

- 15/04/08 Nicely done. It would have been nice to also hear about how this works as a phone (making and receiving calls). |

- 15/04/08 Good review - has some good information. Used to have this phone, which was good in it's day, but no competition for what's out there in the market. I cannot believe the price - £70?!?! I wouldn't pay over £10 from ebay. |
