Disadvantages: Expensive

Introduction

I wanted one of these phones for ages, and I kept on putting the idea into my parent?s heads that it would be a good idea for me to have that lovely phone!!

So there I was on Christmas day, and I stared at the last present, thinking of what it could be. Unable to hold the excitement in I ripped open the wrapping paper and saw the box it came in. I jumped up and hugged and thanked everybody!!

On the front, when you flip the phone closed there is a mirror, very small mind but still, it means I can check my hair quite often!!

What it is

For those who have never heard of this phone before, well it is a flip ? top mobile phone with an integrated camera on it. The phone was made by Sharp. I hadn?t heard of Sharp before, but in the club book it looked great, and well I suppose it is great!!

Looks

Well the colour of this phone is darkish silver ? not grey!! (Really it?s not)!! On the inside, you can have the screen practically any colour you want it to be, or you can have the screen as one of your photos. All of the buttons are silver and the ones with numbers on have black numbers. And I suppose you already guessed this, but anyway the call button is a green phone on a silver background and the end call button is a red phone on a silver background.

But enough about colours!! When the phone is flipped closed, at the top there is a rounded rectangle explaining the time, date, battery, and reception. At the bottom there is a small light that bleeps when certain things happen and next to that there is a little mirror for self portraits and next to that is where the camera is. (Makes sense for the mirror and the camera to be together)!!

On the inside there is a big screen taking up the top half of the phone that shows the same as what the front screen shows. On the bottom half of the phone there are loads of l
ittle buttons to control what you do. Then at the very bottom it says by SHARP in small writing.

There is also a black aerial on the top of the phone. It is short and stubby, so don?t worry about it getting in your way. You can barely ever notice it, well only when the phone is flipped closed!!

On the bottom there is a small, rectangular flap that when you open there are two gold bits at either end and in the middle is where the charger for the phone goes (charger comes with phone). The charger is a different shape to normal it is a near flat, black rectangle.

Menu

There are ten options on the menu to choose from:
0 Messages (compose, inbox, outbox)

1 Camera (take, look at existing pictures)

2 My phone (look at different things saved on phone)

3 Fun and games (download games, other games)

4 Profiles (ring tones, alerts)

5 Organiser (alarm, calendar, calculator)

6 Call manager (Phonebook, call register)

7 Settings (calls, phone, security)

8 Vodafone Live! (Download, shop)

9 Vodafone (prices, services)

To get on to the menu you have to press the circle in the middle of all the scroll buttons. You only have to press the button once to get on the menu. To navigate through the menu you have to press the up and down scroll buttons, not the side to side buttons because doing that will take you off of the menu and back onto the main screen.

Security

To make you feel that your phone is safe, you can add a pin code for when you turn it on, I don?t know how many numbers it can be but I know that the numbers can not be in sequence, like 1234. The phone is like this for extra security reasons.

There is also a pin code that you can put on for when you flip open the phone. So like if someone went to have a look at your phone they would not be abl
e to open it without a pin code!! How safe is that. (Handset lock)

There is also the option of barring calls. You can bar calls such as: Foreign calls, local and home, incoming calls and outgoing calls.

Take note on how this paragraph is quite long!! That means good security!! Lot?s of it!! But you have to admit it is really good, there is even a handset lock!!

To get onto security, Click on the circle and go down until you see ?settings? press select when you get there. A different menu will turn up, go down to security. And take your pick from the four options: PIN entry, Handset lock, Change pin 2 or Call barring.

Price

Now be prepared, the price is a downfall, it is expensive. The price ranges from £250 to £400. It is a lot I admit, but I suppose it is worth it, I mean think about it, a flip ? top phone with an integrated camera!! Come on that sounds great, well it is for me, but you know!!

Conclusion

Well, I have to say I absolutely love this phone, it is great. It has everything, oh and something that I failed to mention ? it is colour screen, sends and receives picture messages, and it can send e ? mails!!

The price may be high and expensive, but I would say it is definitely worth around £300. I definitely recommend this to any one really. But I would say teenagers would want it more than adults or younger children. It is so great!! Hope I helped!!
