Advantages: Small and gadget free.

Disadvantages: Gadget free

I’ve got the Siemens C25 for almost a year now and have had no operational problems whatsoever with it. The first thing that hit me when I bought it was how light it was. As a first mobile it’s hard to beat. It has a very basic set of features such as keylock, text messaging, divert, record your own melody and time/charge facilities. Once it is fully recharged it can provide up to 100 hours standby time or about 2 hours talk time.

If the C25 has any drawbacks it is that it could do with a few more features like an alarm, vibration or more extensive ring tones. I have tried unsuccessfully to program in several melodies but it always plays them at twice the speed. In travelling in both the UK and Ireland the reception is always good as the C25 can ride on different networks such as Eircell, Orange, and Vodaphone choosing the one, which will give the best coverage.

So all in all the C25 is ideal for those who aren’t bothered about not having cutting edge features or for someone who wants a phone that doesn’t require a degree in electronics to operate.
