Advantages: All Functions(see text), Design, Included Data Cable

Disadvantages: no snake ;), none, none

I've had this phone for nearly a week now and I'm still finding new stuff to do with it. I guess it's virtually impossible to list all the features that Siemens have include because you're sure to miss alot. First i'll try to list some of the features which are most important for me :

- GPRS (fast internet)
- EMS (Sms with animations & sound)
- IRDA
- Voice Dialling & Voice Control
- The phone can be used as an extra hard
drive in windows
- The phone uses an explorer to browse all
the data stored on the phone.
- Really easy to sync sms'es, voice memo's,
logo's etc to the phone.
- Nice screensaver function with analog
clock.
- Superb organiser
- Good syncable adressbook
- Speakerphone
- A notepad that can be protected with a
password.
- ...

These are some of the things I like most. Off course it also has the standard features like a currency converter etc.

Another thing i like about it is its ease of use. It took me a day to get used to the new menu operation and then it felt really comfortable to browse the phone. It also seems like siemens has done its best to make it user friendly, for instance : when you're typing an sms, maybe you'll get interrupted and delete the sms you've just typed. When you go back to the sms menu, it'll ask you if you want to continu writing the sms you last stopped with ! That's right : the siemens stores an interrupted sms in memory...It's little things like this that make it a great phone.

Off course there are some down sides, for instance i hear alot of people saying they don't like the games included (balloon shooter and stack attack). Personally i think stack attack is a nice puzzle game , but with the new siemens upgrade you get another game !
Yupz, kungfu battlemail (multiplayer game) is now available on your siemens s45 !
Siemens has kindly provided
an update which can be installed and add some extra functions like :

- Full EMS (formatted text like underline
and large font etc and animations)
- Faster GPRS
- Better Syncing
- New Game (battlemail kungfu)

I think this is really great of siemens and all manufacturers should do this.

When a manufacturer releases an update like this , you really feel that you've paid for value. It's great that a manufacturer keeps adding support and functions to a phone, and all should follow siemens' example.

By the way, if you're willing to show off to friends, just do it with its fantastic design, because it'll take too much time explaining all the functions that are crammed inside. Even I feel now like there's more to explore ;)

An also great thing is that they've decided to include a data cable. Most just include software to sync your phone to the pc, but normally you need to buy a separate data cable. Now it comes in the box !

Siemens you've got a winner !
Nokia, try to catch up ;)

Thnx for the comment. Off course, there'll allways be two camps : nokia people and non-nokia people ;) and imo it's useless to try to convert someone so it's your right to enjoy the 8310 ;)
I must say tho I'm still amazed about how much features they crammed into this thingie...btw, do you like those flashy leds of your Nokia? That was the main reason why I didn't buy one , otherwise it also looked good...

A very good first op. If I must say so :) I don't agree that they are better than Nokia's though, I recently bought a Nokia 8310 and I think it is the best phone a person could ever dream of!
