Advantages: Can have camara connected, small, new
Disadvantages: low battery time, no radio, no bluetooth
I use to have a Nokia 6510 and although it is quite a nice phone i wanted a newer phone with more features. I got this new siemens phone because i thought it would be advanced in that it would have most of the features that you would get with other phones. The phone comes in two colours in titan or ruby red. This was so that i wouldnt have to get a newer phone in just a few months time. The phone is quite small and is approximatly 82x45x22mm in size and weighs 79g. It has quite a lot of the normal features such as calculator, stopwatch and messaging and more including MMS, Polyphonic ringtones and Wallpapers/screensavers. Apart from the phone not having picture messaging and a wallet (from my old phone) i think that it is quite a nice little phone with a lot of features. The Siemens SL55 has most of the new features for example although it doesnt come with a in built camara, you can still attach one separately to it. Although it could be costly when brought separately. THe power supply and the memory of the camara are supported by the phone itself and you can send photos directly to other phones via MMS. The camara is approximatly 66.2x42.8x18.3mm in size and weighs approximatly 35g. Here are a list of features thast comes with the siemens SL55 - Games - the phone comes with some games incuding Rayman Golf and mobile tennis which can be deleted if no longer wanted. Games can be downloaded via wap but you only have a total drive size of 1.62MB. This includes games, wallpapers and ringtones. Polyphonic ringtones - The phone comes with 16 pre loaded ringtones. The bad things about this is that they arent really that good but they can be deleted and new ones loaded via the wap. Wallpapers/screensavers - You can set a wallpaper as a background of your screen and these can be downloaded from wap sites but they must be 101x80 in size in order for it to fit the whole screen. This is a good feature as you can take
a photo using the camara and then set the photo as your wallpaper. Picture messaging - You can send wallpapers or even photes to other mobiles which can accept such messages. The bad thing is the cost of these messages and this is to do with the network and the phone itself. GPRS - This is a faster type to wap where you only pay for the information you go on. I cannot use this feature because you must register and be on a pay monthly contract. Infrared connection - you can use the infrared feature to connect your phone to toher hardware for example your computer. Java - You have a complete drive of 1.62MB which can contain pictures/photos, ringtones and also games. Some are preloaded but you can download more using wap. Voice dialling - You can use voice to access different features of the phone and even used to dial someone out of your phone book. Dictating mac - This feature is like a voice recorder which you can use to record your calls that you are making. However the lenght you can record depends on the amount of free space you have left in your drive. It also contains features that you would get normally for example a calculator, profiles, pin activation, organiser, calender, alarm clock, currency convertor, stopwatch and countdown. Overall i think that this phone is quite good in that it has quite a lot of features. The only downside is that it doesnt contain a wallet which you can put personal notes in. Also standby time is only approximatly 2.5 days which is quite bad. However i would recommend this phone as it has quite a lot of new features and is stylish in looks. Talking about the price it can be a bit expensive at about £149.99 on a contract on orange at the link, but the price should go down soon as the phone is newly out.

A good first review, but as Fran says it is best not to just list features!
Hope you have fun here ;)

- 18/08/03 Welcome to Dooyoo!
Be careful about listing the features on a mobile - the most important information to give us is what we can't find out ourselves - i.e. your opinion! This is an excellent first opinion though!!
Enjoy the site!
