Advantages: Great fun, Looks great, Great quality
Disadvantages: None
The Sony J5 was the second mobile phone I had, I was attracted to it by its 'gadgetness' the sounds you could create, the games you could play and the jog dial, all appealed to me. As Sony put the features 'Among other technologies, the CMD-J5 is also offering WAP, Internet e-mail, scheduler, address book, hands free speaker, games, SMS with sound and pictures and harmony ringer tones. This Sony mobile phone is made for sharing as it comprises a high-quality conference microphone making sure that everyone is heard. The distinctly ergonomically designed CMD-J5 secures perfect fit for your hand. The Jog Dial guarantees for the one-hand simplicity Sony mobile phones are known for.' The phones features are as follows; grey scale high resolution graphic display Alarm clock function Built-in modem Calculator with currency converter Data Communication via RS232/USB cable E-mail (POP3) Games with sound Graphic world time clock Harmony ringer tones with polyphonic sounds High quality speech codec EFR (+ FR/HR codec support) Integrated hands-free speaker Jog Dial Li-Ion battery technology Organiser Phone book up to 500 entries Recordable ringer tones Screensize: 96 x 92 pixel SMS with sounds and pictures Standby time: 30-150 hrs (dependent on network and usage) T9? Text Input (T9? Text Input is a registered trademark of Tegic Communications, Inc.) Talk time: 2 hrs 15 min - 6 hrs (dependent on network and usage) Vibration alarm Volume: 81cc WAP 1.1 browser Ive had the phone for over a year now, there has been no problems. Its easy and fun to use, and even a year or so on from its release you still get your friends coming up to you, asking to play on your phone and still being amazed by the features. One of my favourite features is the recordable ring t
ones, I recorded the nightrider theme tune as my ringtone, it sounds just like the theme of the television, and gets plenty of attention when it goes off. Obviously its not too great if u want to keep a low profile. The Games, The games are great fun, much different from the nokia style snake, the sony games are much more detailed, and come with background music, which to be honest is a little annoying after a while, but it is easily switched off. The menu is easy to use, and looks very impressive, it has plenty of features to mess around with if you fancy sciving off work, or are in a boring lesson at school. Overall I would rate this as an excellent phone, its especially good for those who like lots of features, yet on the other hand isnt difficult to use if you simply require a phone.
