Right, My names Lee - going by all the other opinions which pretty much repeat all the functions, I'll just tell you my story. My 1st ever fone was a Sagem on Vodafone PAYT and loved it but was it basic - still going though !
I then got pretty much all the others that came out but stopped and sold the last Sagem when a friend offered me' a 7110 - absolutely brill phone slightly too heavy though but a great texter' either way ! Even though it was the 1st WAP phone around the CMD - J70 is far quicker and you can use t9 whilst on the WAP which is boon if your PAYT !!!.
So about a month back the good ole' "71" started too lose the signal and go off sometimes (I'd had two replacements) so a new phone was in order ! I've had my Sony now for just on a month the first locked and as I was away and having bought it in the Car Phone Warehouse (Liverpool) and was on a break in London (crazy place?) I didn't realise that I could have taken it to any branch to get replacement. So having got one - the 1st one was displaying "insert sim" = this happened if it couldn't get a signal or was searching for a decent one !
This replacment phones been ok, god help CPWH if it does error as they run a replacement service upto a month from buying your item and as I'm over that month - I'll be getting my money back and buying another one as it is a good phone. One thing I will mention is that what I learnt via a Nokia engineer is when a shop tells you to charge your phone for "14-16" hours ! is incorrect and you can fault the phone this way. So only charge as the instruction booklet advises - I've yet to find an instruction booklet that does say this. The pictures msg's can also be sent to Ericsson's as a friend has one and he receives them, not to sure on the tunes though.
Another down side is the fact the phone has to be on to have the alarm activate or is that pure lo
I would have liked more wallpapers and as the market is very strong than the two you get.
the charging facility is good as its based on a top-up situation rather than a charge up scenario.
The ring tones can be low BUT I wear mine on my belt in a leather case so that will muffle sounds either way ! Yet you won't miss the tones on offer, they are very different to Nokia's regular and boring offer's.
I personally think the phones very good ! and would recommend to anyone. I bought mine sim free also which comes with the handy situation of being unlocked. Sony have pulled Nokias idea of the roller and carried it away...to grreat effect ! ;o)
