1.Thanks to its ample DISPLAY dimensions (the largest in its category!), excellent graphics (has a high resolution graphic display which no Nokia has this category), display is so clear and easy to read. -Most READABLE DISPLAY in this category, 9 lines (small font), selectable display font (Nokias can't even compare, with Nokias you have only 4 lines and most Nokia models have too weak displays, that make it too difficult to read most of the times) -Small, elegant but tough. EXCELLENT BUILT QUALITY (All the cellular world knows it by heart that Nokias suffer from low built quality) -Excellent reception (can't even compare with small Nokia model, ... Very often advocates of this phone will focus on how pleasing the Sony Z7 is to the eye and how compact it is (the term 'credit card sized' is often quoted by shops). But I don't think this really applies anymore. Admittedly I still like the look of this phone, but with the release of a new generation of more high-tech and more compact phones (many of which have colour screens) the Sony Z7 is no longer at the cutting edge of mobile phone technology. While it's still small enough to fit snugly into a jeans pocket the phone's thickness compares unfavourably with many other similarly priced phones (it's even noticeably thicker than its predecessor, ... I bought one of these offline for £150 from Carphone Warehouse to replace my ageing Nokia 8210, and I have to say after nearly a week I am disappointed. I bought it initially because I trust the Sony brand and I was impressed with the design. It is a very attractive phone, with an internal aerial and active flip that only partially covers up the screen so you can see who's calling you, and it's all wrapped up in a tasteful brushed silver colour plastic. However it does seem to be that type of tasteful brushed silver colouring that will wear off with time and leave you with nasty worn patches. Unfortunately I have little to say about this phone ... I traded in my screen disabled 8210 for the sony 2 months ago. Initial impressions were good especially the £15 price tag for the orange upgrade (including the part-ex on the 8210). It looks good the jog dial seemed intuitive (I have a Sony Clie with one). The sounds seemed impressive and the screen clear. However I'm now wishing I'd saved my £15 and stuck with the dodgy screened Nokia. I use the phone for its primary function and haven't tried WAP etc so can't comment on those. The most annoying aspect of the phone is that it doesn't let you know that you've missed a call without running through the laborious menu system to find missed ... Read the complete review

As much as I want to recommend this phone I can't. I bought the Z7 as an upgrade to its predecessor the Z5 and I'm sorry to say it isn't that much of an improvement. However, to begin let me tell you what IS good about it. It sounds great. The polyphonic sounds and ring tones sound great compared to other phones and when people hear it they do take notice (whether you like that or not is a matter of opinion!). The Scheduler. A great way to manage your life if you just need a simple diary with reminders. Its easy to use and has a large capacity if you want to fill it up with your busy social activities. The Phonebook.
