Advantages: Build quality and performance.

Disadvantages: Naff headphones supplied.

First things first, I have read mixed opinions on this handset with a few people saying they have had a problem with theirs shutting down for no reason, I have had mine for around seven months and have not experienced a random shut down once. I have experienced one software fault with the camera crashing whilst taking a photo but this was a one off, it hasn't happened twice and I have taken around four thousand pictures so far!

My last phone was a Sony Ericsson, a Walkman series handset and as I don't have such a great need for a walkman since learning to drive I decided this time I'd go for a camera series.

The music playing software on this phone is a cut down version of the Walkman software and there is so little difference between them that if I was Sony Ericsson I'd have stuck the Walkman badge on it and another £20 on the price!

One of the differences between the Walkman and camera handsets is that the headphones that come with the Walkman are the best I have ever owned, the ones supplied with the C902 however aren't worth listening to radio five with! I use my old headphones with the new handset and the sound quality is first class, it's pretty good through the speaker too.

The camera is packed full of features including face detection and Best Pic which takes a sequence of pictures and you can choose which, if any, to keep. It is worth remembering that this is a mobile phone and as such the camera is not as good as a dedicated digital camera but the image quality is high enough to print and frame pictures as long as you don't want A4 prints. A down side is Sony Ericsson's decision to not include a xenon flash, the flash they have used is just about adequate but don't try anything too tricky with it in the dark if it's important to get the picture.

The battery life is very good, I charge my phone every couple of days, I don't get to use it a great deal though as I can't take my phone to work and I don't get a signal inside my house. That has nothing to do with my phone and everything to do with Three being pants though! For those of you that aren't aware Sony Ericsson have two standard chargers and this phone comes with the higher spec charger enabling headphones to be connected to the handset whilst charging and also shorter charge time.

If you are reading this and thinking about buying a C902 then I say go for it, I get a lot of use and enjoyment from mine, you will too.

Summary: As far as I can tell the random shutdown problem has been fixed.
