Advantages: Small, sleek, stylish, durable
Disadvantages: Small buttons, freezes
This phone was an upgrade from my Samsung. I was extremely happy with my Samsung range but this time around they could only upgrade to the Sony Ericson or a touch screen Samsung. Not too keen on touch screens so I decided to go with Sony. I have always seen this range as more for men then women - by just the feel, shape and design of it and also most men I know have the Sony range! It is now retailing at around £150 brand new which in my books is still extremely expensive - this goes to show that even with age, this phone is still a top seller.
It is 49 mm wide, 11mm deep, 108 mm high and weighs about 106 g. Very stylish in black with white stripes along the sides. It has a 5 megapixel camera which slides out, radio which I have only used when first bought and digital player which I find quite useful. The usual features as texting, picture messaging, video conferencing are all great features to have and have worked perfectly.
I love the voice command option (anything that's easy is a must!). to take a picture all I need to do is pull the top and it opens like a normal camera. I have made videos with this and the quality has been superb. It is easy to use and isn't at all complicated. Another favourite option is the setting of the alarms. I only work 3 days a week and the option to set different alarms with different tones on different days of the week is fab! I have never used a phone which has given me so much variety with the alarm - usually I have to set the alarm and then I forget to switch it off and get woken up at 6.30am on my day off! Also I like the fact that you can turn off the alarm if you do not want to snooze it. viewing the internet on here is also great - buffers really well with great quality.
I'm not too keen on how small the buttons are (good job I have thin fingers) but my hubby finds it hard to use. I also have not managed to find how I can change the text to number when writing out a phone number in a text! It does sometimes freeze and decides to switch itself off - but this hasn't happened enough times yet for me to change it.
I'm not sure whether I will stick to Sony Ericson's but it has defiantly changed my opinion of the range. I like the simplicity and ease of using this phone, find it stylish, sleek and quite durable (have dropped it a fair few times!). I will defiantly not dismiss it as I used to.
Summary: Great phone for a change
