Advantages: Good features, 5mp camera

Disadvantages: bad build quality, quite pricey

This phone has a wide range of features, especially around the multimedia aspect of the phone. And for taking half decent quality photos, and using the phone as an mp3 player, it works well. However, i do have a few problems with the phone.

Firstly, i think that the price is too high for what it is. i got it over a year ago for around £200, and at the time it was a decent phone. Wut now it is still £160? i have since got rid of it and have a nokia e71, which is a far superior smartphone in my opinion, and for not such a different price.

On top of that, it has a tiny screen. It is in sony ericssons cybershot range, meaning it is designed to be a camera-phone. However, a big screen is needed for taking photos, with this tiny screen, you can barely see things even close things well enough to take a good photo.

The camera is good at 5.1mp, and is still one of the better resolutions avalable of phones, although SE now do a 12mp cybershot model. But, the camera butters take the form of little blue touch sensitive ones around the screen. All of which are unresponsive, and very fiddly. So by the time you have set the appropriate settings, chances are that all important shot of the setting sun has now gone.

After a use in heavy rain, it got water under the keys and the keys stopped working and then in the battery compartment, and the phone stopped working. This was later resolved by leaving the phone in rice over night however. But even that being said, a phone that breaks with use in the rain shows bad build quality and concerns me.

I think this phone is good, with some good features, but with the smartphone market now booming, the iphone and blakcberry taking complete conrol over the mobile phone industry, i think this price is too high for what you get.

Summary: This is a good mid range phone, and is perfect for someone who wants to use as an mp3 player
