Advantages: Top notch camera, built in GPS, MP3 Player

Disadvantages: No 3.5mm headphone jack

When my mobile contract came up for renewal I decided to ditch my Nokia N95 in favour of a more advanced handset. After considering the Nokie N96, LG Renoir and a few others I eventually decided to have the Sony Ericsson C905.

The first thing that I liked was its sleek appearance and functional keypad. It is important for me to have a small form factor mobile (the Nokia N95 and N96 were far too bulky) that slips easily into my pocket and is less likely to fall on the floor and smash into pieces.

It also comes equipped with an 8 megapixel camera featuring red eye reduction, image stabilisation, face detection, best pic technology and a Xenon flash. When I tested the camera in the shop I was very impressed with the results!

As with most modern phones it features GPS. You can use Google maps to identify your current location and help with directions to your destination. I find this very useful.

Sony Ericsson incoporate a fabulous MP3 player into the handset, taking full advantage of Sony's pedigree in the music player market over the last three decades. It also has the usual FM radio built in.

The internal memory is 160MB but this is expandable to 8GB.

As with most recent handsets it has built in WiFi and multimedia capabilities.

One of the main features I use is the BBC iplayer. You can download mobile versions of programs from the BBC iplayer onto your handset and watch these when it is convenient.

Overall, the phone is very easy to use with well laid out menus and your main applications easily accessed with one click of a shortcut button. The keypad is well designed and comfortable to use (unlike some other Sony Ericsson handsets - notably the W880i).

Summary: A well built, well designed handset, you won't be disappointed
