Advantages: Mp3 player, simple design, good battery
Disadvantages: 128x128 screen, bad sound quality
Sony Ericsson design is very good, but I wanted to see something more newer. Unfortunately K300 design is not differ a lot from K500 or K700, it seems that Sony Ericsson founded good design decide to most of their phones, with a few diferences. Of course design is not very important thing in that kind of mobile phone, but I wanted to see more spectacular mobile from Sony Ericsson.
I will talk short about body - phone have 19 buttons and joystic, in the side of the one is only one button, that is used to camera turn on and photography, which is in the right side of the phone. Body is not very laden althought the phone is not very big (99.9 x 45.2 x 19.4 mm). At the end of the body there is mini mirror which is using then you need to phono yourself. This is standart Sony Ericsson product with no innovation.
K300 battery is not something special. I wanted that phone would serve more, before I need to charge it. (~4h talking time and 4-5d. in the vigil), but inforamtion is not bad. Batery is only 700mAh - so accept, that Sony Ericsson used maximum of it's potential.
Phone screen leaved bad impression. Of course you can't expect a lot, but I accustomed with big and good screens mobile phones and then I was testing this phone it looked very dim. 128x128, 65k colors screen is enough for information reading, but then I've been watching photos from camera it was horrible. Camera is inconceivable feature of all mobile phones. This phone using standart camera (VGA 640x480, 0.3mpx) that kind of camera is the minimum of newest phones, so the collors often mingle, dark shades need more contrast, but don't forget main mobile phone purpose, so the camera is normal quality.
Menu is standart - so the person who used one of the newest Sony Ericsson model will not be surprised. Without standarts features as Java MIDP 2.0 profile, T9, wap 2.0, GPRS or USB port, phone delights with memory (~10mb), of course when we compare it with newest models, it's not very big, particularly for phone with mp3 player feature, but in this class of phones - it's wonderful.
Mp3 player is good - it's plays mp3, waw or 3gp and have equalizer, but the sound quality is not good then I used integrated speaker or standart earphones. Mp3 format support is probably designed for ranging melodys, not for music listening.
At the end I can say that Sony Ericsson K300 is very good price and quality ratio. This model even often comparing in the medium class, but in the low class it's wonderful.
Summary: K300 - good price and quality ratio

- 13/11/05 As with your last phone review, some information about what you thought about call quality and ease of texting would make this far more useful. At the moment you're not really telling me much more than I can find on the manufacturer's website, I love to read about people's experiences with their phones (because I'm a real techno-buff) and there is so much more you could have told me.
It's also a good idea to write your review in a word processor and run a spell check, it would make it far easier to read.
