      Good for calls!

Having used sony phones for many years I was delighted to have the opportunity to stay with them with a decent no nonsence phone. It does not look as good as some of its competitors but it makes up for this with its functionality. Downsides are that connecting to the internet remains like its predecessors a rather slow and cumbersome experience let down by lack of speed and intelligent links. Fine for checking the football or at a push email but hopeless if you want to check streetmap or train times. It is this gap that got me thinking about why I actually use a phone. An A to Z is just as handy for finding your way around and train times can be checked by ringing just as quickly and with more updates on delays. If you are just looking for a phone which does the basics cheaply then this is a better choice in what is increasingly an all singing, all dancing field. The other applications which phones have been enabled with are always better through a dedicated device and in most cases these are devices that we already own. With this in mind and at the risk of sounding like a luddite I say ditch the I Phones and return to devices that just make calls. One of the closest you can get to the latter in today's market is this phone and for that reason I recommend it.
