Advantages: Easy to use, has bluetooth & infra red, colour screen
Disadvantages: No memory card slot, only has an internal memory of 28Mb
I bought this phone a couple of years ago and was chuffed with my up-to-date brightly coloured phone (I had the Julian McDonald special addition casing for it). Then about 6 months ago I bought the K800i which was impressive but after losing that one recently I have gone back to using my trusty K510i.
The phone has pretty much every thing you could need ...You can call people, text, access the internet, take pictures, record videos and sounds, send via Bluetooth and infra red, play games and has an alarm, organiser, calculator etc...
It's pretty dainty too, considering some of the brick like phones in shops at the moment. It's not flip up or anything fancy, but is a lot neater than most Sony Ericsson models I have seen.
The camera is very good when set to high quality (although you can't store many pictures). At 1.3 Mega Pixels it might sound quite low, but I have never had a problem with the quality of photos.
Battery power is always reliable, I usually find that one charge for 2/3 hours is enough to keep you going for 2 or 3 days.
The keys are of a good size, not too fiddly - perfect for bigger fingers. And the "joystick" style controller is easy to use and is much simpler than having four arrow keys to jump between.
The only thing I can say would make a big improvement would be space for a memory card, because there is no slot and the phone only holds 28mb of music/photos/videos.
The phone is VERY durable. I am one of the most clumsy people you could ever meet...this phone has been through A LOT and always comes out just fine. I've dropped it down the stairs, on pavements, spilt milk on it, and even stood on it but nothing has ever happened to it internally. Of course the casing is scratched up but that doesn't change the working of the phone.
The phone is currently selling in shops for around £30/£40 which is surprisingly cheap considering it has Bluetooth, a camera and is (said to be) a walkman phone.
In the box with the phone comes:
Charger;
USB cord;
Headphones;
Spare case;
Computer software (to transfer images and sounds);
Instruction manual.
I would recommend this phone to anyone who is looking for the something that is easy to use, can call, text, take photos and above all is very reliable and durable.
Summary: A great little phone that is very reliable and durable

- 22/02/09 Good start here and some good information but some people (like me) would also liek to hear a little bit about how well this works as a phone. |
