The Sony Ericsson K550i is one of a number of new phones that Sony Ericsson have just recently released. It is a Cyber-shot phone meaning that it is and an ideal mobile phone for taking pictures with. The Sony Ericsson K550i is an extremely stylish phone and it will look great wherever you take it. Weighing in at just 85 grams the phone is very light and it won't weigh you down or be a burden to carry round all day. The Mobile has a nice feel to it as it is solid, light and compact making it ideal to carry in your hand. The K550i is 14mm in depth making it slim, 102mm in height and 46mm in width making the phone fairly small. You can get the handset in two different colours, jet black and pearl white, each look equally attractive and I wouldn't want to say which one looked better.

The Sony Ericsson comes with a really nice 262k TFT colour screen which has a nice resolution which is great for viewing the photos you will take using this phone. The phone comes with some decent animated background wallpapers but you can download new ones if you don't like them. I'm sure you won't bother as the pre loaded wallpapers are fine. As well as being able to use wallpapers as backgrounds you can use your own photos which you take with the camera which is great because the phone comes with an excellent 2 megapixel camera.

The camera on the phone is 2 megapixel and as a result you can take some really great shots with this little phone. The camera uses the latest Cyber-shot technology and as the camera has a lens cover the lens stays in really good condition and the lens cover prevents dust and muck getting on the lens making the pictures remain top quality. The phones camera comes complete with digital zoom, photo light, auto focus and a dedicated camera features menu making for one of the best phone cameras I have seen up to now. The digital zoom can go in up to 2.25 times allowing the photographer to take zoom in and out which makes for a clear and precise picture. You can send the images to a photo blog site to share the images with your friends and family and this is a great little feature.

As well as being able to take pictures with this phone you can also record video allowing you to record at any moment for an unlimited amount of time. Videos can be saved for later viewing or edited using the VideoDJ feature.

The Sony Ericsson K550i also has a built in media player which allows you to listen to music and watch videos on the phone in all the popular formats available. On the phone you also get a radio so you can listen to local and national stations which is handy if you get bored of listening to the same old tracks on your phone. The phone also comes with Track ID so when your listening to the radio on the phone you can find out the name of the song and artist which is an excellent little feature allowing you to instantly know what a song is called.

As well as all these features the handset comes with all the normal features such as, alarm clock, stopwatch, calculator, tasks and a phonebook and a few others making this handset a feature packed phone. Bluetooth is included allowing pictures music video and text to be sent to and from mobiles freely within a range of 10 metres. The phone comes with 64MB of onboard memory but this can be expanded up to 1GB with a memory stick.

The only thing that I think lets this phone down is the keypad. The buttons are very small and close together. Although they are alright for my hands someone with bigger hands may find it trickier to navigate around the phone. I would recommend messing around on a K550i in a shop to see whether the buttons feel comfy for you.

All in all this is a great little phone, it has a stunning camera with features that you have on proper digital cameras, it allows you to store music files and you are able to record videos. This is a great phone if you want to look stylish and cool. This phone will probably be popular with teenagers because of it's great looks but it is also a very usable phone with lots of features that you should consider if your looking for a new phone. The phone can be picked up on pay as you go unlocked for about £160 but if you buy it on a network you can expect to pay around £130 which is good value for money.
