Advantages: Appearance, ease of use
Disadvantages: Possible joystick malfunction
Very appealing on first appearance, the SonyEricsson K750i is a smart, stylish and yet simple phone that will appeal to many users. The black and silver casing possibly provides a more popular option colour-wise than its predecessor, the silver K700.
The joystick allows for quick and easy navigation through the menus, although it may tend to function less well if not treated with care!
There is a demonstration video to watch upon first use of the phone, although as will all things ease of use comes from spending a bit of time getting to 'know your way around'.
Messaging is easy, with text, MMS and email capacity. There is also an internet function, although this cannot be used by myself at present due to it being configured to the wrong network (n.b. not a fault with the phone itself!).
The 2 megapixel camera is extremely easy to use, with a range of shooting modes, effects and picture sizes just some of the optional functions. The video camera with its 'pause' function allows for the creation of some very entertaining video clips!!
Memory on this phone is excellent - the phone itself comes with a 64mb memory card, more than enough for most peoples needs! It provides the user with the opportunity to put games and music of their choice onto the phone.
The USB cable means that you can transfer any mp3 song from your computer to the phone and you can modify the alarm, text tone and ringtone to tunes of your choice. There is also a 'playlist' function under the entertainment menu that you can use to create a playlist of your favourite tunes - excellent for those moments that need livening up a bit!!
The USB cable also doubles as a charger, excellent for those who can't always access a socket or don't fancy carrying a plug around 'just in case'.
The radio function works well, although I personally found that the headphones provided were a bit large to stay in my ears, and as their connection to the phone is unique I cannot plug in my own headphones. One bonus to the radio feature is that it can be used as and alarm, fantastic for people like me who aren't good in the morning and find even switching the alarm clock off a pain!!
There are extra features including an 'SOS' light, photo, music and video dj's and even a remote control function. Some of these can provide light entertainment but the novelty may wear off!
Overall this is a phone definately worth considering. I would say it is the best phone I have had to date and I have had no major faults with it.
