Advantages: You Can Change The Mobile Cover, Expandable Memory, 2MP Camera
Disadvantages: You Can't Video Call or Receive Video Calls. You Can't Save WMA Music Fomart
This mobile is one of the great mobiles invented to be honest. It's a uni-sex mobile which is well easy to use and doesn't have a lot of complicated specifications or any hidden specifications which are hard to find when you start using the mobile. I bought mine around christmas time (year 2006) i got it at half price as a christmas sale therefore it costed me £90 including airtime.
I'm pretty sure it's now cheaper than this thoough possibly £80.
>>>>>>>>>>>>& gt;>>>>>>>>>>>> ;>>>>>>>>>>>>& gt;>>>>>THE CAMERA
The main good feature of this mobile phone is the 2MP camera, it might sound like a low resolution but once you transfer the pictures to you computer or print them out via a printer that reads SD cards the quality of the picture looks really great. You can easily access the camera by pulling the cap behind it downwards and it will automatically go into camera mode.
The camera has many features it self you can go on the settings and change it to negative, Sepia mode, black and white or solarise it. The camera has auto focus which can be used for pictures or Video recording. If you want to remember the day you took your pictures you can always go on the settings and turn on the date printing which will be stamped on your pictures on a corner. The lighting is really perfect, however when lighting conditions seems poor you can always turn on the light on the mobile and you pictures will look good. You can chose some funny frames which are already in the camera to make your self look different or just to change the scenery via using the office look like frame or the stage frame which makes you look like you are on stage performing something.
However, If you don't have any one to take the pictures for you, you can always put in on self timer which takes the picture after 5seconds approx (my estimation). You can also edit your picture via the mobile by rotating it clockwise or anti-clockwise you can also zoom in the picture after you have taken them with the 8X digital zoom and you can save certain areas of the picture. However if you want more advanced editing you might have to edit via a computer picture editing software which could make the picture look even more better. If you run the installation CD that comes with the mobile it also has a picture editing software within it, which lets you edit your pictures and manage them.
Nevertheless, A problem that occured with my Camera is that after six months of having the mobile the camera just stooped responding. When i tried to pull the lense own which is on the back of the camera it just wouldn't work. i therefore, decided to do it mannually by going on menu and slected Camera, all it told me was to pull the lense down though it was already down. I therefore went to the manufacture (my network provider) seven days after it stopped working because i realized i couldn't live without the Camera. They examined it and they said they had to send it off forrepair as they couldn't do anything. They told me that after it comes back to me they will tel me the problem that caused it. I'm actually still waiting for the Camera to come back so i will have to update this review in about four days telling you the cause of the camera not working. They actually tought the reason was that i had changed my cover, but to me it was clearly not the reason because after i changed the cover the camera was still working, and the camera stopped working a month after i changed the mobile cover.
I WENT BACK TO COLLECT MY MOBILE THE OTHER DAY.. I WAS EXPECTING IT TO BE WORKING. BUT UNFORTUNATELY THEY DIDN'T EVEN FIX IT AND THEY EVEN VOIDED MY WARRANTY, MEANING THAT I CANT USE IT, AND THE WARRANTY STILL HAD ABOUT 6MONTHS TO GO. THEY SAID THEY I CHANGED MY PHONE COVER WITHOUT AUTHORIZATRION!! I FIND THAT SOO PATHETIQUE BECAUSE EVERY1 ELSE THESE DAYS BUYS MOBILE COVERS AND NUTHING GOES WRONG. VODAFONE ITS SELF ALSO SELLS K750i MOBILE COVERS SO I DON'T SEE THE PROBLEM. I'M ACTUALLY GOING TO CALL THE CUSTOMER SERVICES AND HAVE A GO AT THEM BECAUSE IF I SENT IT TO THEM WITHOUT THE NEW COVER THEY'D AVE FIXED IT. THEY ALSO MENTIONED THAT THE DAMAGE COSTS MORE THAN THE PHONE TO FIX, WHICH IS RATHER A LIE BECAUSE THEY DIDN'T EVEN TOUCH THE MOBILE. I AM VERY WELL PISSED OFF AND I AIN'T LETTING THEM GET AWAY WITH THIS!!
By the way if you are really wondering how good the pixels look like, look at my display picture on here and see how good the quality is.
With the camera you can also take videos either in MMS format (small quality for you to send to other people via MMS) or you can chose the High quality version which uses more memory and the video look much better. With the video functions you have a choise of formarts e.g black and white, Normal, Sepia tone etc. You can also edit your videos on the mobile its self by adding text which can help you to remember the day or just put some funny text as a laugh (You have the option to chose the colour of the text). With the video trimmer you can trim your videos this means you can chose were you want the video to start and when you want it to end. The video editing function also lets you add some music to the back ground, the music consist of happy tone sounds (if the video is of a happy moment), sad sounds (if the video is of a sad moment) and other random sounds which helps you to create the mood of the video. Youi can always transfer your videos onto the computer to watch them or edit them furthermore and possibly record them onto a DVD if you want to.
>>>>>>>>>>>>& gt;>>>>>>>>>>>> ;>>>>>>>>>>>>& gt;>>>>>>ORGANISER
The organiser is a folder on the menu that has extra features inside it.
It has the timer which lets you set a time when you want the mobile to ring. It has an easy use Calendar which lets you see the previous days or years or then upcoming days or years. It also has the option of setting reminder or appointment or possibly anniversary e.g your friends and family birthdays, wedding anniversarys etc. The organiser also has the "Notes" and "Task" these two functions do the same do the same thing. They both lets you save things you want to remember either the present day or the folowing days. The only difference is that with the Task you can set a reminder but with the Note you have to look at it daily or hourly to remind yourself. In the orgaiser you also have a light option which is really useful in the dark or if you are lost i the middle of nowhere.
The light has an option of turning it on for only ten minutes, turn it on continous (and you can turn it off when you want), or you can put it on the S.O.S mode which makes the light flash to tell someone that you need help. One day the power box of me house just switched off itsself and we didn't know were the totch was (don't even know if we actually have one) and suddenly i remembered that with my phone you can use it as a torch. Therefore, i switched it on and used it to read the power box so that we can turn it back on, it was really helpful.
>>>>>>>>>>>>& gt;>>>>>>>>>>>> ;>>>>>>>>>>>>& gt;>>>>>>>>>>>MUS IC
If you are into music like I am then this mobile is for you. With the expandable memory you can store up to 1000’s of music. The K750i has a media player which lets you create a play list of your choice this could be a play list according to genre or just your favourite music. The media player also has optional mode such as repeat one song or repeat the whole play list over and over again. It also has an optional equaliser were you can chose how you want the sound of the music to sound like, you can chose from either rock, normal, bass, double bass etc. With al the music that you store in the mobile you also has the option to set them as a ring tone or alarm tone (one song at a time of course.
This mobile also has an internal FM radio which catches all the radio stations in the area you are in. In April when I went to Belgium I turned on the radio on my K750i and I used the auto channel search (which searches all the radio stations in your area for you instead of doing it manually which can take for ever sometimes) just to see what kind of music Belgians listen to. To be honest, the music was really weird some of it was in French but thank God I found one channel which played some modern English music but the presenter who was presenting the Music wasn’t speaking in English. Anyways moving on, with the Fm radio you can also use it as your alarm tone. When you set your alarm you actually have to plug in the headphones so that that the alarm works.
The sound from the radio won’t come out of the headphones though so don’t worry. What happens is that when the alarm goes off, it will automatically go on loud speaker and whatever is playing on the radio live is what you hear. When you look at the phone there is a button which is engraved with the play and pause button on it. If you press that button it will automatically play the Media player music that you were listening whenever the last time you listened to it if your headphones are plugged in, the music will come out the headphones but if they are not plugged in it will go on loud speaker. However you can change this option via the settings. You either don’t change it if you are ok with it or you can choose it to go to the FM radio when you press it. For the button to work with the FM radio your headphones have to be plugged always.
You can also choose the option that lets the button play whatever you were listening to e.g. if you lastly listened to the F.M radio it will just go to the F.M radio or if you lastly used the Media Player it will just go to the Media player or you can always chose the last option which is to disable the button. Disabling the button means when you press the button it won’t take any action and for some of you this might be the best option. I actually disabled mine because it was giving me trouble. The trouble was that I kept pressing the button by mistake when it was in my bag or pocket. The drawback of this is that if you don’t realize you have pressed the button your battery will run out or decrease as the music uses battery.
However, To make your music sound even better you can buy the sonny Ericsson or the walkman speakers that are compatible with the K750i of course and they produce really good sound. My speakers broke unfortunately because I dropped them out the window (didn’t mean it of course I promise).
When you use your headphones either listening to the music or as hands free, you ought to be careful for the reason that they break quite easily, mine actually broke four months after I bought them and my mates one broke only after a month of getting the mobile. Replacing the headphones costs around £7 - £15 depending were you buy them from.
>>>>>>>>>>>>& gt;>>>>>>>>>>>> ;>>>>>>>>>>>>& gt;>>>>CONNECTIVITY
With the K750i there is different ways you can use to connect to other sources e.g. Computer, laptop, other mobiles etc. The popular way these days is definitely Bluetooth which lets you connect to other sources which are 10metres or less from you. With the K750i you can choose to rename your Bluetooth to your chosen name and you can change it anytime you want. You also have the options to switch off the Bluetooth or to turn it on. The K70i has inferred connection which lets you connect to other sources which have infarred up to a distance of 5cm.
K750i also gives you the option to switch on the infarred for only 10mins, switch it on all the time and the option to switch it off. However, the connection speed of both Bluetooth and Infarred are the same except that Bluetooth make it easier. The speed of transferring the documents via Bluetooth and Infarred depends on how big the document is (the bigger the document the more time it’s going to take and the smaller the documents the less time it’s going to take). The USB cable is another major way of connectivity. It however only lets you connect to the P.C. Before you can use the USB cable its best that you run the Installation CD software that is provided with the mobile when you buy it. I’m pretty sure that you have to run the Cable in every computer you want to connect your phone to (you only run the Installation CD once though).
When you use the Bluetooth on a computer or the Infarred you don’t really need to install anything. The USB lets you manage your contacts, calendar and Organiser through the computer.
You can also use the Mobile as a USB mass storage suggesting that you can save other documents even if they are not supported with the mobile Software into the mobile and you can open them again with any computer.
The USB cable lets you charge your mobile via the computer, the drawback of this is that it takes long for the battery to go full though it helps if you lose your mains charger or you want to charge the mobile in college or at work etc.
Via the USB cable you can also listen to the music on your mobile if you want to. When you connect the cable it will give you the options of what you want to do e.g. view al the documents in the mobile, play the music, take no action etc. This mobile does some miracles when connecting to the internet. The images look great and the text is just of right size and it lets you download lots of free things from the net or you can buy things if you have to.
>>>>>>>>>>>>& gt;>>>>>>>>>>>> ;>>>>>>>>>>>>& gt;>>>>>>MESSAGING
The K750i has a variety of ways which you can send messages. You can send messages via SMS (text messaging) which is possibly popular with everyone. Via SMS you can send text and smiley’s which come in the mobile. There is also an MMS (Multimedia Messaging) is quite an advanced option and it lets you send pictures (it will resize the picture automatically if it is too big to send), video, sound (MP3 or recorded).
When you send the MMS you can either send it to some one who has a mobile that is compatible with MMS or you can send to an E-mail address. The cost of sending MMS normally varies according to your network provider and from my knowledge the cost of sending an MMS is between 30p – 70p maximum it’s only going to cost you more than 70p if you are sending the MMS abroad. The speed of sending the MMS is really fast when I’m comparing to my previous mobile.
Another way of sending messages to other mobiles is via sound recording which lets you record your voice and send it to someone who has a phone which can receive recorded sounds. There are also other extra features which are included in the messaging options e.g. “saved messages” which is an option that lets you save all of the important messages that you don’t want to delete, “sent messages” which shows you all the messages you’ve sent, “outbox” which shows you al the MMS that is pending to be sent etc. The inbox of the K750i stores hundreds of SMS depending on the memory left on your phone, the mobile actually comes with 34MB internal memory which is quite big for an internal memory
>>>>>>>>>>>>& gt;>>>>>>>>>>>> ;>>>>>>>>>>>>& gt;>>>>>>>>>DISPLAY
THE k750i lets you use the pictures you've taken with the camera as wallpaper or screen saver. A wall paper is a display on the front of the mobile screen when you are not browsing your phone and a screensaver is when your phone hasn't been in action for a few seconds or minutes, therefore it goes standby to save the battery. You can also use themes which is a wicked display feature. If you don't want the mobile to display an animated picture or normal picture as your screensaver you can always turn it off and it will display time instead.
Themes comes in different style, sports, celebrity, cars, love etc. Themes comes with a ready made background for your menu, a background for when you scroll down the options, an animated wall paper or a normal picture, and a screen saver. You can download 1000's of free themes from a website or from the K750i mobile which is an option as it downloads straight to the mobile. If you download via the computer you will have to transfer the theme from your computer to the mobile via the USB cable, infared or bluetooth. I tend to use infared on my laptop because it's rather fast and i now got around 20 themes but i could get more if i want as they are free.
>>>>>>>>>>>>& gt;>>>>>>>>>>>> ;>>>>>>>>>>>>& gt;>>>Extras N Games
The buttons of this mobile are well soft and are really great for games. Just reminded my self that i didn't talk bout games. Well when i bought my mobile it only had demo games. What are demo games?
Well demo games are basically a try out of the game, mainly the first level of the game and the mobile will ask you if you want to buy the game, I don't know if it comes with demo games for every network but with Vodafone it surely did. However, don't be scared because you can download 1000's of free games from the net or mobile. I've got about 30 games in my mobile but i could get more its only because i can't be bothered to download all of them.
A lot of people tend to complain that the little joy stick break easily but i don't think they do, its most proberbly because the mobile is worning out or they play a lot of games like crazy, which of course gives this negative result.
>>>>>>>>>MORE
Includes 64MB Memory Card (can be expanded)
Battery upto 400hour standby time
Talktime upto 9hours
I would deffinately reccommend this mobile to everyone, im begging you all to try it out please. Its a sort of mobile that won't go out of fashion easily. I can imagine in the next ten years seeing people still using this mobile lol it won't shock me at all. its a great mobile, don't know how many times i have to say it but it is !!!!
