Advantages: Ease of use, camera, functions and reliability
Disadvantages: PC software lacking
I have had this phone for just over 2 years now. I originally had it on contract with Orange, then went to pay as you go with Virgin Mobile. Here is my experiences with the phone.
Camera:
This is one of the main selling points of the phone, and I must say it is very good quality and was the reason I went for the phone in the first place. However, there are a few problems that will prevent you from ditching your digital camera. Shutter speed is very slow so everyone has to stand still in the picture otherwise it will turn out blurred, not very practical for everyday use. Also in dark environments the quality is a bit of a let down, however it is still head and shoulders above all other cameras. The protective lens cover is a nice addition to save the lens from getting dirty. The light is also a nice addition, came in very handy when the power went off one night. I rarely use video, but what I have used of it I can say it is pretty average.
Usability:
This is what makes this phone the best phone on the market. Lets be honest, mobile phones are a bit useless when it comes to usability. This phone has been logical to use and has some very useful shortcuts accessable via the joystick, such as left joystick to write a text or holding down # to put it in silent mode. It has also been the most reliable phone I have had, the phone has crashed on me about twice since I have had it, which isn't bad at all.
Features:
The phone has plenty of features like all other phones. However, this phone implements the features well, which sets it apart from most phones.
Software:
The one thing that does let this phone down is the poor PC software that comes with it. I recently got a MacBook though which requires no software and syncs perfectly via bluetooth and lets me move files from my Mac to my K750i. I can also use my K750i as a presenter tool for my laptop, so I can do presentations at uni using my phone via bluetooth!
Conclusion:
This is a great phone and I hope it lasts me sometime soon. I have always been unimpressed with mobile phones. They have the nice sleek designs and all of the features, but making those features usable and syncing them up with the computer has always been very disappointing. The Sony Ericsson K750i makes the features work well and is a good step forward for the mobile phone industry. My favourite mobile device is still my iPod. Why? Because it works as a whole user experience, plug it in and it just syncs, it "just works". I'm hoping the iPhone will do the same and change the mobile phone market for the better. For now though the Sony Ericsson K750i is a great device and I am more than happy with it. I would recommend it to anyone.
that is a review on ciao in my name.
