Advantages: Camera, Design, Material used
Disadvantages: Usability, Screen, Keypad, Video-recording
When this surfaced on the net, I thought, 'What a nice little phone'! Little I knew back then, when I finally got my hands on this, I realised there were more faults than those that met the eye. But don't be too disappointed yet, you may be able to find...some good points too *lol*.
First of all, what really got me was the design, and especially the design of the back, which has like a long slide opener for the camera lens. And the wooden effect! It neatley slides to reveal the lens, in a very smooth action. The phone is only 14.5mm which is quite slim and was great to hold in the hand.
As I value cameras very importantly in the phone, I shall talk a little about it. K770i has a 3MP camera with Autofocus (thank God) with LED flash. As you would expect from a cyber-shot camera, this phone does have its trickts - the photos are vibrant, clear, and even detailed, and definitely above average - a winner in my books.
The internal memory is ridiculous of 16MB,but then I don't really mind this since it does have a memory card slot, and thus the memory can always be expanded. For music and for many many photos, you can just upgrade the memory stick to around 1 or 2GB, which seems to be enough.
Nice battery life too, its quite strong in that field. The 2ndary camera is on board, for video calls. I'm afraid to say...those were few of real good points I could find on this phone.
One huge bad point was the screen, which I'm glad to say, is brilliant in resolution but the size was just horrible - of less than 2 inches, which is microscopic for a mid-range phone. The keypad has some unique design but it wasn't really to my liking. Again the navigation keys are too small, but the 4-directional pad worked well. Another serious flaw is the very poor video-capturing capabilities, which is really not playable. These flaws are quite serious ones.
Overall though, if you're looking for a nice stylish handset with a good price, then this is for you. This is not the top of the range Cyber-shot phone, but it does its job, in impressing the users, though it does have the knack of disappointing them too.
