Advantages: lots of quality features

Disadvantages: expensive although price is coming down

I have seen this phone for a while when I was a very keen phone user and the phone was first released but knew it was out of my price bracket and although tempted wasn't prepared to stretch myself beyond £100 so I left it knowing it was one of the best multi feature phones available and far beyond the competition for features when it was released and I believe it still is a top phone.

My personal experience with the phone.
I used this phone of a friends during the christmas period and really was impressed by the many features. The video footage was very good, much better than I have seen before on any other phone much crisper and more detailed, I thought it would be nice to see the footage transferred to a PC to see how it stands up against camcorder footage, because from what I've seen is that the footage is very clear and easy to identify things with good sound as well as you would expect from a sony device. I saw some footage of a family member playing with a ball with commentary and I thought I have to get one of them because it would be so handy with the extra feature of a camera video/mp3s and the option of a large memory card to store any information on without the need to hook it up to the computer every time you take a few pictures or a couple of low quality video about 15 seconds in length. The camera is a very impressive 3.2 megapixels (as I write this review I know an upgraded camera exists with 5 megapixels) The 3.2 compares to my current digital camera I use for photographing items before I sell them on a well known auction site. The battery life on the phone for such a task is better that my digital camera lasting a lot longer and the quality of picture is as good so it just makes it easier for me to complete the task. Another really appealing feature is that it doesn't rely just on the inbuilt memory of the phone. The memory cards can be upgraded to add alot more storage space (for example a 1 gig SD card which should be more than adequate for most things you would use a phone for)

The phones aesthetics
The phone has a very easy to use keypad with an easy to use joystick which can be manipulated with the thumb. The screen is large and bright with a crisp coloured screen. The phone is durable, my friend has dropped it a couple of times and made a couple of scratches and just with regards to wear and tear his was a little worn at the edges but nothing I haven't seen with other phones I have owned in the past. One criticism that could be thrown at the phone is the fact its not a flip phone where the keypad and screen are protected when not in use, however this is not a problem for me personally, the top 3 phones I've ever had were not flip phones and for some reason most flip phones I've come across tend to have less amount of features.

Phones durability

After reading another review the person writing the review did an update about having to replace the screen and the screen cost little to replace, immediately after reading this I went to look online for the price of a screen and also saw plenty of other replacement items such as keypads and cases/case protectors, a great amount of replacement parts are available so it is cheap to fix one of these phones or at least reasonable should you damage the phone by accident.

In conclusion
I have to say I am still well impressed after all this time of its release which seems to suggest it is a significant development in the mobile world. I have read a couple of the reviews on this phone but I just thought despite this I would put my ten peneth in not only showing its diversity of users and opinions of just how good this phone is but also the impact it has made in the mobile marketplace, for me its a ground breaking phone for the features in the phone being of such quality i.e its got a camera - but also the camera is good quality and worth using which isn't usually the case and the same applies to the video and sound. I would say if you are looking for a fully featured phone or you not quite sure this one will definately be a good choice and a wise choice as the cost is coming down.

Summary: A groundbreaking phone you wouldnt be unhappy with, ahead of its time

Nar2 said most of what I would say. I'd also add that I like to hear about the sound quality of receiving and making calls, the battery life and the ease of using the menus. Finally, that list you put into this review isn't really helpful at all.

How much did you pay exactly? This kind of info would be handy for future buyers looking for a bargain. Also, despite the features whats it like for the basic condition of it being an actual phone?? Quick to text or slow? Quick to respond generally or a few glitches? What are the downsides?
