Advantages: Value for money and reliability
Disadvantages: Slightly fiddly controls
I have had my K800i for 14 months and it has been fairly reliable.
The phone itself is a little bulky and the camera slider is easy to accidentally open. The buttons can also be a bit awkward to use and the joystick control is intermittently faulty. Other than this the phone has been reliable and has never failed, I find it easy to use on a day-to-day basis and writing text messages fast (although not as fast as my old nokia). It also has good music storage and management, especially when combined with a large capacity mini-SD card, which are now available very cheaply. I hardly use the FM radio but find that it is reasonably good and a welcome addition.
I was attracted to it as I wanted a phone that had a good camera, this particular phone has a 'real' flash rather than just one of those LED bulbs - so in this respect it caters better than some other phones for low light photos. The camera takes great pictures for a phone but in the last year the technology has come a long way and it is now superseded by other better models.
In conclusion, this phone has probably now seen it's best days as a market leader and has been overtaken by other newer models. However, this phone is now available very cheaply and in its current price range it is fantastic value for money. It still has a great camera and tons of other features that are sure to keep you entertained and occupied for some time. Overall a pleasing a reliable purchase.
Summary: No longer are phones just for talking!

- 21/08/08 Nicely written but perhaps you could have told us how this works as a phone as well. |
