Advantages: Amazing 3.2MP Cybershot camera, Good battery life, Very reliable
Disadvantages: Quite bulky, Not the best looking phone out there,
I got this phone in December 2007 as it was half price in Argos. I can honestly say that I've never since regretted it.
The battery life is fantastic and I can go for about 5 days without a charge and it is used quite a lot during this time. It also only seems to take an hour to charge fully before its ready to go - perfect, if like me, you're not good at remembering to charge things overnight.
The major asset to having this phone is the camera. It is a 3.2MP Sony Cybershot camera and takes absolutely stunning photos - if you're only printing them at normal size (6 x 4) then there is no difference to a standalone digital camera. I have had photos from my phone blown up to over A4 size and they still looked fantastic. The camera is incredibly simple to use, just uncover the lens and the camera is automatically ready to go. It also has a flash, autofocus, red eye reduction and different shooting modes depending on the conditions. There is also another camera on the front side of the phone that can be used for video calls - I've never used this feature but the camera quality seems good when I've just had a quick go without calling.
There is a perfectly functional music player that gives you the ability to sort by track, artist or to create playlists. There are headphones supplied with the phone and audio is quality is good. The internal memory is adequate for about one short playlist i.e. 20 songs as well as a reasonable number of photos (depending on file size of course). However, what I did and what I thoroughly recommend is to buy an extension M2 memory card which fits in a slot on the side of the phone, for a few pounds and then load up music to your heart's content. It is also possible to play videos on the phone but these may need converting on your PC before transferring them over.
There is a USB to phone cable included which you can use to move photos, music, videos and games backwards and forwards on. It shows up as a USB file storage system on my Ubuntu, Windows Vista and Windows XP systems and it is just a case of copy and pasting multimedia into the 'music' or 'video' folders and you're done!
The only downside I can think of to this phone is its appearance. It is not the nicest looking phone on the market and is quite bulky, especially with the camera lens cover protruding slightly at the back.
Summary: I recommend this phone to someone who is more concerned about function and reliability than looks.
