Advantages: Good array of quality features and applications
Disadvantages: Very unreliable and has an awkward feel and design to it
This is one of the best phones i have ever owned but also has some major flawes. The actual physical phone itself is relatively poor, but the features are what makes it a great phone.
If you've never used a similar Sony Ericsson then it will take some getting used to, with a touch screen feature mixed with buttons, which themselves are a small square pad which feels un-natural to press. The directional buttons are joined in a square around the number 2 and 5 buttons which is aesthertically pleasing but can be tricky to use without making mistakes or pressing an incorrect button. The general shape and weight of the phone is quite lumpy and thick, a far cry from the smallest slimline phones which are being released by rival brands.
However, once you have overcome all this, the features on the phone begin to shine. A choice of menu style is available, which allows the enlarging of boxes when they are highlighted and the choice of 12 applications is enough to keep the user entertained for life. The Messaging, Call and Organiser applications are standard but the camera and editing facilities are excellent. The 5 mega pixel camera allows great quality of photos which can be tweaked with effects, timers, add ons and all kinds of things. The video option is just as good, using the same camera. Personally, i don't regularly use the internet on my mobile phone, but the facility to do so is present, making it clear and easy to connect the user to the internet and visit sites and read emails. The entertainment feature is brilliant and has a variety of games to play, along with the editing features called Video/Photo/Music DJ. The music available is easy to connect from the software package, allowing you to upload any kind of media onto the phone and vice versa. You can also listen to the radio using the earphones supplied and finding your favourite radio station.
The one major problem i have experienced with this phone is the constant freezing. By constant, i mean every 4 months or so, but it has happened to me about 5 times now and each time i get told it won't happen again. But when it does happen, luckily nothing is lost and it only takes a day or two to be sent away and fixed. However, this shouldn't need to happen and i would like to make people well aware of this, as i know other people it has happened to.
Overall, the all round general look of the phone is fantastic and is only let down by the awkward size and feel of the design, plus the unreliability of use.
Summary: Could be a great phone, but too many things let it down
