Advantages: Long lasting, Amazing camera
Disadvantages: Poor sound, Bulky design
I have the K850 as a backup phone which comes out when the other phones break which alone says alot about the durabilty of this phone!
The shape of the phone is rather bulky and square in my opinion and does take up a considerable amount of space in the pocket however it does mean that it is very hard to drop this phone but if you do it wont break easily
Calls on this phone are of average quality, you can here the other people but sometimes it seems a tad quiet, however I have never had a problem with it not being able to connect a call or dropping out during a call.
Texting on this phone is quick and easy as it is the same as all previous models of the sony ericsson
The phones operating system is sony ericssons own and if you have had a sony ericsson phone in the past you will be able to pick it up in no time at all as most of the options and icons remain the same as previous models, however this doesnt hold much option to customising the user interface as many of the newer andriod operating systems do.
if you plan on using this phone on the internet alot then you wont be too dissapointed however i would recommend you download an application such as opera mini to make accessing the internet faster and more structured compared to the phones own browser.
one of the main features of this phone is the camera and to this day it is by far the best camera I have ever used on a phone, many options to choose and change and the flash works perfectly for low light situations or photos on nights out, the picture quality is amazing!
The screen on the phone is fairly large for the type of phone, very usefull when taking a veiwing pictures or watching mobile video clips, however it is not as viberant as some of the newer phones out.
The keyboard is fairly practical, easy to get to grips with however the only downside is the two soft keys which are intergrated into the screen, this sometimes is a bit strange when coming to use the phone but a good introduction into minor touchscreen
Battery life on this phone isnt amazing, i would recommend replacing the battery every year to get the most out of them, sometimes it gets very hot when in use alot!
The phone being a sony ericsson means you can add on features such as games and applications but they have to be for the Java format .jar and themes have to be in sonys own format, however for this phone they have to be model specific which the bigger screen resolution and the touch softkeys.
The charger for this phone is the sony ericsson own, this is a very durable charger and does the job well, the only downside is that you have the charging port on the phone is fairly large and can often fill with durt if you work in a dusty environment such as building.
the only down side of this phone is that they have not put any real emphasis on the music part, the speaker is quite poor and it lacks the music recognition software that makes the W models quite special, also the headset provided is a basic set of earphones.
